Actually, this season, most of the year, Johnson was riding in the Cowboys bandwagon because of the job Parcells had done. I wasn't talking about four years ago. But maybe Jimmy just didn't share your take on the team's mediocrity.

My point was more that you're coming down on both sides of the fence on Jimmy's HC validation test, using it to support a Silly Option on the one hand and ignoring it when it validates a HoF coach who's restored a lot of talent and direction to a franchise that desperately needed it on the other.

It's probably b/c you've blanked out everything that happened this season prior to the final month. And then blanked out everything else that's happened since 1993.

You darn sure would have to bring in a hot shot DC in that scenario.. but who? Doesnt seem to me that any of them happen to be looking for work right now except as HC's.

Trying to get away with Bowles or someone like him would be asking for it. How many teams get away with such unproven OC's/DC's?

If any it's because they were well oiled machines in the first place and they just had to replace the guy who got his unit to that level with someone else cause the guy moved on to bigger things.

So, then, it's Phillips or Rivera, right? I unenthusiastically support Phillips at this stage at least.

It makes better sense to me to hire Rivera as HC, and bring Norv in as OC. Man, that would be cool. I always loved Turner's timing passing game. Aikman had it down so well with his receivers that it was almost impossible to stop it. As soon as Irvin or Harper would get to their spot, the ball was there. I believe that kind of offense would really help with blitzes & our average OL pass protection. If we can free Romo up to do his thing, he's shown that he can be the best in the business.
