It is a common thing to think that the new talent is on par with established value like Schultz, and a bit optimistic, I'll admit that.

However, since Schultz clearly has proven his value, and our rookie TE's have been a pleasant surprise, shouldn't Dallas consider trading Schultz to get an offensive tackle??

They are not trading Schultz. He is a key part of the offense.

Actually, they make him expendable next year. I think Ferguson is Schultz in a different number. Hendershot has more speed than any TE the Cowboys have had in a long time. He could be a poor man's version of Kittle or Kelce.

With the current LT situation and the WR room unknown's for the first half of season....we might want to see how they can help the offense. Schultz has value but when compared to an NFL quality LT I'm not sure a TE brings that kind of value.

Is this based off watching a TE3 play against scrub city??!!! Hendershot vs Von Miller would make us all nervous...

I'm sure that there will have to be some picks involved as well... but it's going to hurt if Dallas chooses to trade away Schultz... unquestionably.

With the current WR room yes they need him to produce as a target.

Didn’t you just make this thread to say trade him?

Yes it will hurt to trade him!! Yes..

However, it will also hurt to have a backup quality Left Tackle.... that is unacceptable. Unacceptable to the point that Dallas should trade away some talent to get the LT.

What about trading away the guys behind Schultz. If you see potential, others will too….

No, Ferguson and Hendershot are unproven, yet promising players. Teams are more likely to trade for proven talent than for rookies.

What value could you get at LT for backup TE's? honest question maybe I'm not seeing the value swing the way others are....who is going to give up a quality LT for a TE? and if its picks just keep the TE and give the picks.

Good plan, only problem is, Schultz doesn't have enough value to get someone that would really help us out @ LT. What team is desperate for a TE and are stacked at OT at the same time?

But overall I agree, those two could replace Schultz this season.

Not only are they not trading him but he has no value. Nobody is trading much for a solid but middle of the pack tight end…..
