Ferguson step back

Excellent post . Mazi going to Trysten Hill files . Off production so far I see no reason for Schoon getting a second contract in Dallas .
When you don’t use free agency, you have to hit on most of your draft picks and can’t fail 1 through 4. 2023 was the worst draft the Cowboys have had in recent memory.

LaPorta hasn't done squat this year. Ferguson actually has better number i think. Lol
Agree that LaPorta numbers are down so far this year but they still bury Ferguson. There is No comparison between the two players.

I think he’s a lot like the qb. They only play elite when there is elite talent around them, or above average talent. There is zero running game for a defense to respect. WR falls off a cliff after Lamb. The schemes and pass protections have taken a step back, and Dak no longer makes plays wirh his legs. So it’s dump off routes and 3 yard gains. Basically a passing version of our running game.

Ferguson only step back is Dak being his QB. How many passes other than an out or a screen have you seen Dak get him the ball. Don’t get this twisted
if dak has been the only qb he's played with, how does that make any sense? y'all will say anything

Fergy's routes are 2 and 3 yards down the field, what do you expect? Heck, and he still has to reach n stretch to make those catches.

263 yards zero TD’s 2024 . It seems when Dak finds him it’s a dump off for minimal gain . Two targets to tight ends in the end zone last night one to Schoon one to Spann Ford .

Obviously Ferguson is in the Tyler Smith category on this roster , a young building block in his first contract to hopefully be here when the winning resumes . This year he mirrors the offense , flat .
That's on the QB and the playcalling, not on him.

No they don't bury Ferguson. Laporta has less receptions, like 10 more yards and 2 tds.

I do think LaPorta is the more talented player, but Ferguson is actually pretty good and I wouldn't go on saying LaPorta will hands down have a better career. It will be about opportunity and system.

Who’s “yall”??? You think you’re talking to an anti-Dak guy? Do your homework kid.

Ferguson is a chain moving TE. Laporta is a downfield threat type. They are not really comparable. Like comparing Edelman to Jamaar Chase. Just completely different types of players.

I know this thread is about Ferg, but let's take a look a Schoon stats so far on the season 8 reception for 56 yards and 0 TDs.
When you look overall at the TE production in this offense it again points that finger at scheme.
In a TE hungry league, Ferg and Schoon would probably be appreciating in value rather depreciating here.
