-Chiefs went on the road to play on turf against the Patriots to open the season. The New England defense was coming off a season where they were #1 in points allowed. KC posted 42 points on the scoreboard.

-Chiefs went on the road to play Houston in week five. Houston's defense last year was the #1 team in yardage allowed. KC rolled to 450 yards...and another 42 points.

Whether the Texans or Patriots are as good on defense this year is certainly an open question, but holy crap...

I specifically referenced road turf games as I suspect that the fastest team in the NFL likely excels on the fast tracks of artificial turf.

We might need to score 43 on Sunday.

Funny thing is, the Chief's fans are saying the same thing on their forum about us. They think they need to score 35+ to have a chance to win. They think we are going to run for 300+ yards even without Zeke. They also think Dak,Dez, and Witten is going to abuse their defense.

Here are some posts from the Chief's forum.

Smith and the offense has to put up atleast 35

Cowboys are going to score 35+, with or without Elliot. They're probably going to rape us on both fronts.

Our defense gave up 177 rushing yards against the Broncos sorry stable of RBs with their sorry group of OL men and non-existent passing game.

I fully expect Dak to run for 50-ish yards and throw for another 300+.

This game has blowout written all over it given how the last few weeks have gone over for both teams, could easily look like last year's @Steelers game.

We’ll need 35 points to win. MVP Alex or ****.

Dez Bryant is gong to destroy whatever sorry Acker/Mitchell CB is covering him. Since Sutton won't put Peters on him, Bryant will be able to do whatever he wants.

Best O-line vs. our Defense. Where the opposing running back gets three yards before first contact . Not to mention our K-hunt has to break two tackles just to get back to the line of scrimmage. 21-10 Cowboys

We'll definitely put up more than 10 on their D. It's almost as bad as ours.

Think more along the lines of a 35-31 Cowboys win.

I'm not surprised. They should be worried. Everything points to a barn-burning high-scoring affair.

Kinda like that pig fest slop pool game they conducted against the Steelers?
They looked totally inept and wholly unworthy of the fearsome awe bestowed upon them ,,, meanwhile GM John Elway is seriously contemplating starting lost sheep Brock Oswieler week #9 after going thru his grueling " football rehab" and having been deemed starter readyo_O

( besides, its not like McFadden's never played against them)

To be generously candid, I honestly believe our entire offense and defense will likely be obliged to play their best game of the year yet to defeat Kansas City. Their performance, both offensively and defensively, is about as solid as most teams would only like to be. Dak will likely be challenged to get rid of the ball quickly and accurately to avoid being hurried and harassed on a constant basis by their elite pass rush.

Hopefully, our newfound pass rushing abilities might perform at its best as well to prevent our young secondary from being cruelly victimized. If we're somehow able to live up to such high standards, we should have a fighting chance to end up as winners. It'll be anything but easy, though, that's for doggone sure. Here's hoping we're up to the challenge. I'll be more than delighted if we are and I'm quite sure you will too.

Sadly I think their d shuts us down and Peters has at least one INT that is mostly a WRs fault

I think it will be a fun game to watch. That said, about 1/2 way through my son and I will talk about the inability of our defense to prevent a 10 yard completion when it is 3rd and 8 yards to go because our defense will play the amazing wall of defenders two yards behind where the Chiefs will need to go for a first down.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Oddly enough, KC fans are super down on their defense and expect to get lit up.
They should be down on their defense.

They are giving up a lot of yardage.

And why is that? Well Bob Sutton has gone super conservative and is playing man coverage behind a very straight forward 3 or 4 man rush. Sometimes two man rush and flooding the field with DBs.

Very little to no blitzing.

Sound familiar?

I think the Chiefs have the most diverse, innovative offense in the league right now.

And considering how Marinelli's defense has looked for the most part this year, I fully expect that defense to get lit up. I just hope people are screaming about a lousy scheme and poor coaching rather than blaming players who aren't being put into position to succeed.

Offensively, if they do, in fact, lose Elliott, the Cowboys are in real trouble to keep up offensively. His absence will allow the Chiefs defense to adjust for more passing and pass rushing, and I don't feel that the Cowboys passing game is hitting on all cylinders.

Add it all up and "I have a bad feeling about this."

Elite pass rush? They are one of the worst teams in the league at getting pressure.
