FF guy says Rivers will torch us

Rivers has the 2nd highest QB rating right now. SD's offense is much better than most anticipated. We put up 30 points and Rivers will have a big day just trying to keep up or catch up. I don't think the predictation is that far off base.

This is a defense to be proud of. Nobody is torching them this year. I guess these next two weeks will make you believers. What we need to worry about is our weak offense. The defense is full of grown men.

And yet Eli has thrown for 1 TD in their last two games. That OL is a catastrophe. Meanwhile, Rivers has thrown for 8 TDs and 1 INT in 3 games all against pretty good defenses.

Today I learned the Eagles have a pretty good defense.

Eli threw for 450 and 4 TDs against us. The Chiefs' passing offense is conservative and the Rams' passing offense is terrible and yet those two QBs averaged 230 yards and 1.5 TD with no INT against us. Rivers and the Chargers have the most competent passing attack we've faced so far and they're at home. I'm not sure why this is so outlandish.

Giants offense gained most of their yards under duress in the 2nd half in all must pass drives. It is Eli Manning and a division rival yet we had a good defensive game considering. Chiefs maybe but they have a better offensive qb with a pass first minded coach. Rams are a very pass happy team and it is not atrocious as you say. so yeah, it is a little outlandish to say our defense is not that good

Again, not having Floyd their best receiver. Sure their offense has been good with him in the lineup. We won't have Miles, but we are deeper at TE and more depth at WR (Dez clearly better than Eddie Royal) than the Bolts. Vincent Brown is gonna get Floyd's reps.

The difference between real football and fantasy football. No one would consider what the Giants did against us a great performance but Eli Manning had 450 points so he had a great fantasy day.

We may annihilate Rivers, emasculate the Chargers all day but he might get 2 pointless passing TDs and 300 yards as we win 24-17

Eddie Royal and Gates are having very good years thus far. Royal is actually having an awesome year. Rivers as well. Yes this is a game we should win, but it sure ain't as easy as some are making it.

As a casual FF guy who has had Rivers on my team a few times, he's hit or miss and torching any team is never a guarantee, and in fact unlikely.

We are a top 10 defense in points allowed so hopefully if we give up some yards we'll limit the points.

Rivers can throw for 400 yards if it is all garbage stats cause they are getting blown out. I am hoping Vick and MJD have the same situation and results this week.

They gained 184 yards in the first half (minus 10 for an Eli sack). And it doesn't speak well of our prevent defense, if one thinks we were playing prevent, that we allowed three touchdowns in the second half, not one of which took more than 3.5 minutes off the clock.

3 pretty good defenses? Really? Yes Tennessee and Houston haven't given up a lot of yards but Houston has been atrocious in the one defensive stat that matters most IMO - 27.3 ppg.

And the Eagirls? Good D? They are near the bottom in both ypg and ppg. Manning may set a new record for TD's in a game that will never be broken this weekend.

Royal has a lot of tds but his production beyond that is pretty mediocre.
