Love is a good example. He was given time to learn and develop. When his time came, he was in a good position to succeed.

What if he had gone to a bad team, and was immediately thrown into the fire?
Might be a completely different outcome.

Has Lance even been given a chance? He sat behind Garoppolo then when he finally got the chance, he got hurt. SF went with Purdy and let Lance go because they already knew what they had in Purdy. Lance has not been allowed to show what he can do due to injuries and being a backup. I hope we can give him a chance or at the very least make him the 2nd QB if we are keeping Dak.
He sat being behind some guy in HS.

He sat behind some guy in College.

Maybe there is a reason why?

It college camps his position was changed from QB to Athlete.

This is not Req ball where you give everyone a chance.

Didn't Jerry trade for this guy?
Now we are getting to the root of the problem. Best move Jerry can make is to fire himself and get a real GM.

He admitted a mistake and fixed it with Jimmy Johnson. Can he finally admit and fix another one?

True. He was supposed to be a starter in 2020, but COVID happened. He's had a series of unfortunate mishaps. That still doesn't mean that he is not good. The Niners gave up a lot to get him. They got lucky that they had Mr. Irrelevant in the wings.

Why are people so opposed to giving Lance a chance? Would it be a bad thing if he was actually good?

Lance initially wanted to play at the University of Minnesota and had been ready to commit there after attending a recruiting event in February 2017. However, he was deemed a wide receiver or defensive back prospect by them and other Power Five schools. He eventually committed to North Dakota State in December 2017

You really need to look up his stats and compare them to other QB's

Just look up Trey Lance and Purdy stats from both HS and College and he will see the problem very clearly.

Because turning a Super Bowl-contending team over to a 3rd string QB is crazy talk. Like it or not Dak is the only option.

Good advice. However, from his class of QBs he has been given the least chance even when he came back from injury. How can anyone know what he can do if he doesn't see the field. I understand development is important especially from an experienced QB but if he's not the answer then why the heck is he in Dallas?

He also choose to sit out a year. Now if this was because he had to or get the Covid shot, I don't blame him. However he needed the development and game reps.
