That's what they said about Boise State when they beat OU two years ago in the Fiesta Bowl.

Just because they don't play in one of the Big Conferences does not mean they don't deserve to be ranked highly, they already got snubbed for one of the better BCS bowls.

No way Utah could ever beat Texas, USC or Oklahoma...

I agree but I would like to see them play because frankly no one thought that Utah would beat Bama the way they did.

USC deserves major props for showing up in a bowl game that didn't matter. Texas and Alabama were not ready to play.

The Horns put up nearly 500 yards of total offense on Ohio State, I shudder to think how many yards they would have gained if they'd showed up "ready to play"... and defensively, they played about like they have all season against good offenses...

The only subpar part of their effort was points scored... they didn't do as well converting all those yards into points as they usually do... but perhaps Ohio State had a little something to do with that; you talk like the Buckeyes were a bunch of stiffs...

I said in this forum for most of the season I thought Florida was the best team so I'm certainly not surprised today but if they played USC right now? I'm not so sure they win.

I do not think Florida is the best team or was the best team all year. I also think USC could beat them but I think Texas could beat them also. To me, USC has the best defense in the country. You are always going to have a good chance to win if you play good defense. To me, Florida does not have a great offense. They showed that last night IMO. I think OU has a poor defense and they held Florida to 24 points. USC would hold Florida to under 10 IMO. Florida would not be able to run on USC. Tebow would have to beat USC in the passing game and he's just not good enough to do that IMO.

Texas has a weakness as well and it's in there Safeties but honestly, Florida would not have been able to run on Texas like they did OU. Texas has problems with power running games and that's not Florida. Florida wants to out quick everybody and Texas is just as fast if not faster. Texas is certainly faster at the DL. I think Florida could run more effectively against Texas then they would be able to with USC but I think Texas has a better DL and would get to Tebow quicker. The difference to me is offense. I will not bet against Colt because I've never seen anybody stop him when he's healthy. Texas does what Florida does but they do it much better because Colt is a much more accurate thrower then Tebow is.

That's just my opinion on it but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Florida is champ.

When I say show up ready to play I mean show up ready to play..............when the game starts. Texas was sleepwalking the first half.

Blake Gideon sucks. He had as bad a game at safety against OSU as I've ever seen. I know he's just a freshman but damn. I hope Texas has something better than him next year.

Please. If Okalahoma was actually playing for something, they would've blown out Boise State and West Virginia 10 times outta 10.

If Bama was playing for something, they would've blown out Utah 10 times outta 10.

If Texas was playing for something, they would've probably blown out OSU 7 or 8 times outta 10.

All you're doing is proving the BCS system is garbage by having unmotivated teams in Bowl games.

I think that Gideon will be better next year. I mean, his issues this year were about experience IMO. Gideon can hit and he, IMO, will eventually be a good player for us but this year, his failure to catch that interception probably cost us a National Championship.

But remember, Scott (I think it was) also dropped a sure INT that hit him right in the numbers on that same drive.

Just was not ment to be this year.

The vote for USC #1 was from a Forth Worth writer I thought. I do know his top three were

1. USC
2. Utah
3. Florida

Now that is a joke

Texas needs work.

I dont see what's so funny. The Horns are better than the Buckeyes, but not by the margin that the Sooners are better than the Broncos or Bama is than Utah.

I know. I constintly hear it from all directions.

:laugh2:

The thing I don't really get is that people act like Ohio State is nothing. I don't know, the Ohio State team I saw was pretty good I thought. Your offense needs work but Wells and Pryor along with Robiskie making catches on the outside, there's some talent there. I can talk tell I'm blue in the face about how good OSU defense was this year but it's all for naught. Nobody want's to hear it so.........

Utah at anything higher than 5 is ludicrous!

Utah beat New Mexico by 3 points That is the 4-8 New Mexico. 84th ranked in the Sagarin. That result alone should disqualify them.

Follow that with another 3-point, last-minute squeaker win at home, against perennial over-achiever TCU, their SOS is laughable.

Equating running-the-table over teams like UNLV, Weber St and San Diego St, as on-par, especially with 3-4 of the above mentioned coming in the "heart of your season", with the rest of the top 5 teams in the AP, is damn near insulting!
