One thing I cannot figure out. Do the Daksters think his college career, getting drafted in the 4th, 7th QB taken and 3rd choice of the team that took him, is just an anomaly and he was just hanging back until he got to the NFL?
I watch a lot of college ball, specifically SEC ball as I am unfortunate enough to be a Hog, and Dak in his senior year, his Heisman list year, looked exactly as he did this past season. It is his challenge with accuracy consistently, the same problem a lot of QB's have, including Keenum, that put him in the 4th round.
No team, not one, had him as anything but a backup, and QB is the one position every team's scouts dissect closely and all had him in the 4th or later. No QB can be inaccurate and play in the NFL. It doesn't matter the good throws he will make, it is the others that are a concern.
I'll give him this season, as if I have a choice, but when a QB has technical issues, how many ever really fix that? And while we notice the problem, the DC's he will face drill down on that.
If I were the GM, I would take a QB in round 3 or up. It may be his job to lose but I'd send the message who he might lose it to and Rush isn't a threat. He's still cheap and the time to find out is this season.
Dak also had off the field problems. DUI and a got into a fight in Mexico. This pushed him down more.
He was 3rd round talent. Interviewed well given his circumstance. Has some moxy and it factor about. He needs to be able to post snap process information faster and cut the ball loose. Easier said than done.
