Ok, wade and jerry jones started out good at the start of the year, releasing pacman, tank johnson, tony curtis-whom writers say has lost interest in playing football, T O and greg ellis.

There was stupid mistakes as you all know last night. Proctor was called for holding that negated a field goal, and then either he or kitna fumbled the snap.

Courtney Brown had a sure touchdown but didnt drive through for that interception, then committed a stupid penalty.

which was all set up by stanback fumbling, and his poor performance last night. One of stanbacks comments covered about if he was on the hot seat or not of bubble in wr openings and could be cut. Stanback remarked he wasnt worried if he was with this team or not. That is the wrong attitude.

YOU could look at both players eyes last night browns and stanbacks and see lost confidence etc. You cant allow that on your team.

Finally, the moose daryl said it last night, the 49ers were a good tackling team, because they had physical practices with pads on every day except for 3-4 days. The moose went on to say that teams are going back to being more physical, contradictary to what wade said about being physical and playing in the heat etc to get your players ready.

The cowboys led in penalities again last night!

If you dont tackle in practice, how can you get your players ready. To top that off, we all know how roy williams almost got hurt because in a goal line drill, no pads were on.

Wade had better wake up. Send that message and take note yourself wade, you cant get these players ready for the season, if you dont allow them to tackle.

I agree with the OP. You really need to send a message by cutting a couple of guys. Stanback and Brown would do nicely.

I'd like to see Brown and Stanback cut before the 4th game simply because I'm frightened to death that one of them may do something that can be used as an excuse to justify remaining on the team. I don't think that's as much of an issue with Brown because he's pretty much walking incompetence, but I could see Stanback running a kick back or something and it getting overblown.

No, we want them to play so the guys we want to keep don't have too. Let those dudes play and risk injury so our keepers don't have to. Then cut them...

We are at 77 players right now.

The cutdown to 75 players is September 1st.

The cutdown to 53 is September 5th.

So 2 people will be cut by Tuesday, maybe more. But I sincerely hope no one here will be all butt hurt if those cuts don't happen today, right now, immediately. The staff will get these things done, but not necessarily on our time schedule.

I most certainly will be butt hurt if this team doesn't immediately satiate my need for a pound of Courtney Brown's flesh.:p:

As great as it sounds and I want Proctor and Stainglass gone sooner then later the only cuts your going to see before next weeks game are going to be Joe Blow and some other guy you had no clue was on the roster.

They are not going to risk having to play guys they know they will be keeping more then they should just to get rid of some dead weight right now. Not to mention if any of these players we cut have a chance to play in the NFL and some other team might suffer a key injury we want to hold that bargaining chip as long as we can.

keep them around for the Vikings game no point in cutting them now then having someone we need play and get hurt in that game only to have to re-sign them

Butt hurt, satiate, and a pound of brown flesh should never be used in the same sentence. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Exactly.

I think we all know who our top 5 WRs are at this point.

And I think our top OL are very likely

Our starting five plus Free, Holland, Preston, and McQ, and we'll probably stash Bright on the PS.

With the injuries to the roster already I do not want them cut right now. They need bodies. They can get down to the 75 roster limit by placing Brewster and Williams on IR. Keep Brown, Stanback and proctor until you have to cut down to 53.

I agree to a point. Teams like SF have absolutely nothing to lose and no one expects them to do well. A fairly new HC with an "old school" mentality trying to instill an agressive attitude should have more physical contact practices. But there comes a point where the risk of losing key players and pro-bowlers outweighs the benefits of full contact practices, IMO. As you mentioned, we almost lost our #1 WR in a no contact practice. Players shouldn't forget how to tackle. I think what's been more detrimental to this team is the persona of the HC that many players have have already adopted sinced he's been here; that's what permiates a locker room more than anything. I know I'm sounding like a broken record but I truly belive that.

I actually think our starters played well and I'm glad we didn't have any major injuries although I almost had a heart attack when Newman returned that punt. The cuts become clearer and easier at this point. Some of these guys like Brown, Proctor and Stanback are what they are. Probably Watkins too but he may stick around until Hamlin is healthy and he can play special teams. All in all, I'm not as dissapointed as some here.

I use to think this as well but he's slowly changing my mind. I really like how he ran TC this year. It was tough and you can tell the team is all about football and winning. All the headaches are gone and the team seems to be a lot closer now. I like what WP has done so far this year..

Good Gawd. Why do those players mentioned make mistakes? Because they suck. That's what bottom of the roster guys who won't make the team do.

And the Niners didn't tackle to the ground in their camp, either. Just like us.

Why are some people acting like we were the Cards in the Cards-Packers game the other day?

Again,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't see Proctor being cut, as he is the only backup center at the moment.

Unless we pick up some veteran center (because there are loads of them available, right?) Proctor will still have his butt sealed to the bench after the cut to 53.
