I don't worry about that. I worry about staying the course with the league's worst coordinator.

I am not ready to ship him out. this would be the 3rd DC in 3 years and firing him would make it 4.

we have no talent on this defense. none. zero. I venture to say we could take players off the street and other teams' practice squad and achieve better. at least they would be hungry. you can't take a pile of crap, put it on a nice plate (cowboys stadium), garnish it with parsley and mashed potatoes and call it a steak dinner. cut into it and it stinks, because its a pile of crap.

lets get some real players on this defense and then decide.

I am not sure any coach could run any type of scheme with this morons on the field. perhaps eberflus should realize that he needs to switch to a high school defense. heck, doubt if these players could execute that....

That's a sunk cost fallacy argument. Yes, switching DC's all of the time is bad, but you don't not switch because of it when the DC is running an outdated system and refuses to adjust playcalling based on the strengths of the personnel you have rather than what you want to run.

Yes, we absolutely need a lot more talent on defense, but that doesn't excuse the fact that he keeps making the same mistakes, having them start so far back and play so loosely in zone when they suck at zone.

He clearly sucks. He was good with all-pro's like Sean Lee, but we don't have that here the game has passed him up. It happens to alot of coaches. Plus, the best coaches adjust their scheme around the players, not vice versa, right?

how many times did Sean Lee play? and before you look it up, remember he was injured far more than most players and we still had a good line.

no you do not, because we dont have that, we have a few , talented players that we cant get to work as a unit. SO, what do you do when you have rot? you gut it, you try a new scheme. HOwever we are handicapped because of our owner, gm and HC gave out bad contracts.

The more breakdowns I watch of this defense the more I realize it doesn't matter who the defensive coordinator is the players are bad.

Poor angles, not filling their gaps, getting killed in man coverage, covering grass instead of receivers. This list goes on and on.

Murray, Elam, Bridges, Williams, Fowler and Wilson have been the biggest culprits over and over again.

Well. The only reason I am willing to.wait is that the players we have suck and suck real.bad. shear james is our best LB and he is below average. Safeties are pure suck. And DEs are just awful. The best DE is Eze and he is a rookie second rounder and DTs have been bad for years. CBs are bad. Never liked Diggs and now the best CB is Bland and he is one man amongst boys.

When these defenders cant even win one on one battles when Sam "the mouth" Williams gets blown out by a WR then there isn't any scheme that is really going to help this sorry bunchnof sacks..

So again, not on Eberflus band wagon but it's not all him. A new DC may improve this defense from worst to 30th in the league which means they would still suck.

Give all of that, we need to go defense only this off season and it's a two year project. The next DC would need time to rebuild. Can't fix this crap overnight

We need to get rid of 9 out of 11 defensive starters and move couple to backup and rotation players.

The challenge with this group is there is no scheme that would fit. We are very unathletic and slow and lack basic football talent to carry any assignment

I would venture to say we move to a simple high school scheme because that is all these players are good for.

Let's not forget we had Parsons and Lawrence last year and we still sucked with a different coach and different scheme.

We lost the best two players on this team and it shows.

He did the whole offseason thing as one liking the defensive moves and if he would preface just one post with the fact that "although these players actually suck and I thought they were better" he would sound a little more convincing.

As it is, all those continuing to try and say that it's all on coaching and scheme without any mention of the absence of talent, have absolutely no idea what they're watching.
