If you mean game day, I agree he's got a lot of limitations there. He's good at addressing the longview, though.

I definitely mean game day. I also highly disagree with this offensive strategy. I'm back and forth on his ability to game plan.

We also became far less effective on third down on offense. I'm not sure if the two are related but I think there is something to be said for it being so.

And better in the red zone. Yeah. Not sure what the issues were with the third down offensive slump, honestly.

not sure how you can have that take since we are no better today than in 2011. We cannot get past 8-8 and still cannot win in December. Each of the last three years we have had the lead in the division at US Thanksgiving and found a way to choke it away.

This year we had the lead and the tiebreakers but he found a way to lose again.

but hell, I guess he will be smiling that fake politician grin when we win our first preseason game next year and all will be good again

The game planning itself is not that bad.

It is the execution of that game plan during the game and in the situations that arise that is the problem.

I cannot figure out how a Princeton grad cannot figure out how and when to call timeouts. It had no real effect on the game but he called a timeout with 23 seconds to go in the first half so he could kick a field goal. Last week Romo had to tell him not to call a timeout.

How can an Ivy Leaguer be that dense?

It really doesn't. Passing effectively does, and that includes setting up your passing offense by running in certain situations, but that's not "balance." Balance is irrelevant.

actually for our offense, that is balance. We will never be 50/50 with run/pass and the way our O works, it shouldn't. However, when we do run well and the safeties start creeping forward, you throw long to keep them back so you can start utilizing PA. However, we don't. We just pass, pass pass and pass some more irregardless of the situation. That's not balance.

I think Garrett favours flexibility over execution. Rather than focus on 5-6 things that the offense can do really, really well consistently, regardless of defense, he wants to go in able to switch to about 20 different things throughout a game.

I'd love to see his offensive installation as compared to a team like Seattle or New England.

so the HC is not responsible for the defense?
i thought that was one of the differences between HC and OC?

just trying to understand

in a healthy organization, yes.

in ours, I 'm not sure the head coach makes those calls. my suspicion is he doesn't.

This. We go down by 10 points and it seems like everything that was planned all week goes out the window, and it once again becomes the Streetball Romo Show. More so last year when Garrett had full control, although Callahan apparently has never met a pass play he doesn't like either.

Lol great logic. Unfortunately, the same logic that Jerry will use as he (and the Garrett apologists) continue to baby their guy

Three straight years where he failed to get us in the playoffs despite only needing a win in the last game. Even a bad coach should win one of those three. That isn't even mentioning his colossal chokes to the Giants, Cardinals, Packers, Lions etc which made those said games win and in types.

We were significant underdogs in all 3 of those games for a reason. Not like we were "choking" away games we were supposed to win.
