It doesn't matter any more, Jerry Jones destroyed the exclusivity of the Ring of Honor when he had Haley inducted. Haley is in the 49ers Hall of Fame, he was a Cowboy for five seasons, started 12 or more games only twice during that time.

Then Jerry retaliated against Drew Pearson for not giving in to him on some business arrangement. clearly Drew belongs in the Ring of Honor.

Jerry fully intends to saturate the Ring of Honor with players from his era in an attempt to lend creditability to the absurd notion that he was just as relevant as Tom Landry or tex Schram.
Drew's in the ROH.

Dang, how did I miss that? I mean, I remember now that you remind me but I was bitter for a while, I guess I just still am. Thanks for the correction.
He should have been in a long time ago. He should be in the HOF too.

Larry Brown didn't change the power of the NFC by switching teams from the 49ers to the Cowboys.

See this is what bugs me. I am not singling you out but this is a common thought.

It was not deion that shifted the power, it was the niners assembling a pro bowl defense of free agents. They went and found a way around the cap with bonuses. Max Kellerman on espn said the other day Dallas under jerry can't win since the cap came in and they can't cheat with bonuses applying that to Dallas incorrectly when it was SF who did that in the offseason from 94 to 95.

anyway, the 94 niners were fortunate in a million ways and still had to hold their breath in the 4th quarter of the championship game.

They signed Ken Norton, Gary Plummer, Charles Mann, tim harris, Richard Dent, Ed Mcafferey, Bart Oates and deion sanders.

See a pattern here? Deion did not shift the power. Steve Young could not beat Dallas and the organization went all out and brought in 7 former pro bowl veterans. Mann I don't think ever played because of injury however.

Dallas lost their coach and a number of players and then limped into the championship game with a banged up team.

Steve Young in the 92 & 93 playoffs vs Dallas 3 interceptions, sacked 7 times and fumbled once. He couldn't beat Dallas. Lost at home and on the road. What do you know in the 94 championship game young goes 13 of 29 for 155 no sacks no turnovers because the defense did all the work, the defense filled with free agents.

anyway, this always makes me mental that Deion won the niners the championship and then won one for the cowboys in 95. Neither is true.

The Steve Young stuff still bugs me also, if they don't go buy a pro bowl defense he never wins a championship and he is a numbers guy. That is why it always gets me going when I hear people say Tony Romo is just a stats guy and doesnt win and turns the ball over in the playoffs......well that applies to steve young exactly except they found a way to bring in all those pro bowlers on defense to beat Dallas so he got over the hump.

anyway sorry rant over, not directed at you dcboysfan....just decided to vent in this post....

No, problem I'm aware of everything you said. But IMO Deion did change the way the 9ers and Dallas played defense. He didn't win anything by himself, but was a very important piece of winning rings as a 9er and Cowboy. His impact was felt by both teams.

Yes, I know, First Take. But still it's an interesting question. First off, I'm not sure I agree with this group saying that Deion "won us a superbowl" when he missed the first half of the 1995 season. Did he play well down the stretch? Yes. Was he more instrumental than anyone else on the team? I can think of 5 players before his name comes up.

That said when I look at the ROH, I see almost entirely players that stayed with the team >10 years and had consistent success. Deion was here for what, 5 years? The only thing that gives me pause is that Haley is in with only 5 years, but I would argue we couldn't have won the early 90s SB's without him (my opinion, I know many will disagree with me).

What say you about Deion?

If based purely on his play on field for Dallas...yes. But when I factor in nonsensical bs that has come out of his mouth since his retirement...no.
