Yeah, he sucked and so did Gailey. Disgusting ownership decisions.I'm trying to forget those Campo years. Sheesh.

Really the lesson is don't have the least talented team in the league and be so deep in salary cap hell that you can't even hire a respectable coach. I'm sure Jerry compensated Campo but Campo made a business decision and took one for the team.
Gailey’s right up there with him.Campo was the worst head coach in Cowboys history.
That’s right. He dumped water on someone else. Might have been TOactually I think he pulled his shorts down during practice rather than dumping water on him
either way, complete idiocy
Didn’t mind gailey that much. He did get us two 10-6 seasons.Gailey’s right up there with him.
Yeah, having a top 7 QB with a much lesser cap charge in 2021 than he had in 2020... that’ll be our death knell!!!!

I reserve that distinction for the Red-Headed Clown, Garrett. The Clown wasted many years with a few decent teams, 10 years down the drain with that bum. Campo was a fill in coach for a really bad team.Campo was the worst head coach in Cowboys history.
What respectable coach would want to sign up for failure?Campo took a head coaching job from the only guy dumb enough to give him one. And coaches salaries don’t count against the cap. Jerrycan and could have paid anyone whatever they wanted. Bill Belicheck for instance.
Good overall W/L record and very good stats. Despite complete garbage on the other side of the ball.We sucked with him in 2020 too.![]()

No talent on the roster and facing years of salary cap hell. Yeah I am sure Jerry could have gotten anybody he wanted. Please, can I get three 5-11 seasons on my coaching resume?

Campo never shoulda been HC and everyone here knows it so whatever he says is voided.
The jaguars just drafted a franchise QB and they aren't in cap hell. They are a young team with only potential ahead of them. This is an ideal situation for any coach. If he was willing to pay enough? He absolutely could. The Jaguars just got Meyer doing exactly that.
Please…
Our top insider chats with our top coach on why the 2021 Cowboys season is already over.

Yeah Meyer hiring was a no brainer. Jags had over 70 million dollars in free cap space and had the draft capital to draft arguable the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck. That's a dream scenarioThe jaguars just drafted a franchise QB and they aren't in cap hell. They are a young team with only potential ahead of them. This is an ideal situation for any coach.
During the Campo years the Cowboys paid all their aging superstars outrageous contracts and were eating dead money for years. It wasn't until they cleared all their cap space that they were able to get Parcell's on board but he did the same thing and brought all his ageing veterans on board. We were competitive for a while but while we weren't in cap hell we were up against it.
I realize now you are not aware what was going on back in the Campo years so I am wasting my time perpetuating this conversation.

Your both technically correct. You can pay a coach whatever you want in hopes of enticing him but at the same time if your in known cap hell for the next 3 years, have medicore talent, and have an owner that is known for being difficult to work with then money alone isn't enoughYou’re certainly wasting my time with the ridiculous connection between salary cap and paying a head coach.
It’s great that you finally realize that.
