Of course. You're always looking to improve.
But passing up on an opportunity to draft Kyle Pitts vs some ho hum do nothing defender is a mistake.
I mean I see a lot of you guys pom pom'ing for Micah Parsons. He may be great.. Who knows.. But his biggest question mark is his ability to cover and that is where the NFL is going with linebackers because a linebacker who can't cover gets exposed by the spread and some of you are just blinding by his ability to come down hill (Which is something Jaylon Smith is actually good at).
Sure, if the team feels a defender is less than an elite talent they shouldn't take him over Pitts, and I agree that in today's game a LB better be able to cover.
Pitts obviously would be nice to have, although I'm doubtful he will still be available with the 10th pick. But if he is, there is the question of how the team feels about Jarwin and Schultz. If they like that combo, they could trade down a few spots to get more picks.
There is also the question of how many balls there are to go around. Cooper, Gallup, Lamb and Pitts would be a nice foursome, but with that many people to spread the ball to (not to mention to the RBs as well), can the team get top 10 value from him? Of course, Gallup is in the last year of his contract, so if he were allowed to leave Pitts could pay off bigger next year.
