IF TRUE, this is great. Lets slow down and consider the source. We dunno if this is Mike Fisher running a Jerry J head fake at us to send a message to Martin or something. Don't trust Fish or Jerrah/stevie as far as I can throw them. But if it happens, I would love it. Steele is an important cog.

remember yesterday Fish was running his mouth about Dallas in trade talks for a wr bust in Mims? What happened? ZILCH. I knew it was fluff. We didn't need him anyway. Fish just fills airwaves mostly. Can't trust him. I am skeptical of this Steele thing. I find it odd that a guy that has an office across the hall from Jerry can't get anything right concerning the team until AFTER it happens. Maybe its just me.

In his defense, he is an odd man out in New York. They likely would trade him for a bag of footballs at the moment

Per sport trac... In 2023, Martin will earn a base salary of $1,700,000 and a restructure bonus of $11,800,000, while carrying a cap hit of $11,040,000 and a dead cap value of $28,660,000.

Regardless he's underpaid compared to his fellow top og across the league. Wish he would fully honor his contract but him seeing tyron have injuries probably doesn't help. Limited earning duration in the NFL. Take care of yourself cause no one else is looking out for you.
that is what happens when you front load a deal bonus money on continually restructuring with more bonus and guaranteed money.. they somehow forgot they got paid already it's in the bank.. all they see is the small salary in that given year.. ..

they agreed to it all, and they should honor it.

His money looks better in 2024.

But this year stinks.

Don’t know his money situation. A lot of them are terrible with $$$.

If I’m Zack, I hold out and get an extension. They can throw some bonus money and rework the deal.

Either way, Dallas js going to be paying dead cap $$$ after he’s gone.

The talks with Steele probably brought this up with Zack.

Steele probably making more than ZM now.

They all talk.

but isn't a bag of footballs A conditional seventh round pick??? If there's no risk and we can cut them anytime why not??
I think we have bigger needs if we have injuries later. I am apprehensive about trading assets like draft picks that we might need later. Even a 7th. Plus, the wr room is crowded already. Standing still here seems like the wise call.

..i'd be careful here. The guy is coming off leg injury. Who knows how he'll respond.

Sign him, with certain existing conditions.

I think that is fair. IMO he is a much better starter than McGovern and Connor Williams were here. He is probably still somewhere between average and a little below average meaning he is probably not a top 10 center in the NFL but is probably a top 20 center.

As we sit here today, If he is gone when he becomes a free agent I’m fine with it and If he signs a reasonable contract and is here for the next 5 years I’m fine with that too. The one caveat is that it is not unreasonable to assume he continues to improve being that he has only been in the league a couple of years. So it wouldn’t surprise me and it is my hope that he grows into a top 10 center this season.
Top 20 for Biadasz sounds about right to me. And that's in his third season. I think that's about where he was the previous season too. I expected him to continue his upward trend last year, but didn't see it. Last year was year 3, and that's usually what a guy is, especially if he came from a top program, which he did. He'll be 26 in November. I don't think he was much more time to grow into his body. He is what he is.

I'd disagree on Connor Williams. I think he was a better player who got better every year, and that includes after he left and was moved to C. That was impressive. Williams came here young, 21 his first season. Neither Frederick, nor Tyron, nor Martin made the All Pro until they were 23. Olinemen just aren't filled out at 21.

Williams is half a year older than Biadasz, but has played 2 more seasons.

Biadasz started here at 23. Probably still recovering from his hip issue his rookie season, but old enough and with 4 years of physical training at Wisconsin, an oline factory. Red shirted his first season, then played 3 years. Rimington Award winner. He knew how to play.

I don't see a lot more untapped potential in him. He's a middling starter in the NFL. Great deal for a 4th round comp pick. But not the kind of guy we offer a first free agent contract to. The kind of guy we let go for the comp pick.

Really thought we should have at least taken a stab at a potential replacement this year. We need interior oline depth anyway.

What happened is they would have had to outbid what Detroit did and didn't want to do that.

This would be wonderful news in my opinion. Steele has blossomed into a tireless worker and a great example for the organization. His hard work should be rewarded. And I have to think that his price tag will never be lower than it is right now coming off of injury.
I agree, but they need to stop giving extensions to players coming off of season ending injuries. Gallup, Dak, and now Steele.

Is this where you tell me that making the pro bowl doesnt count?

Biadasz has basically proven all you haters wrong.

Still obsessing over his rookie season getting pushed back into the QB by Hargrave?
You tell me. Is Tyler Huntley a Pro Bowl talent?

Some are really bad. Like Jaylo Smith making the pro bowl that year.

Biadasz played well. I can say I was a little surprised but if he had a bad season, trolls like you would have been all over him.

Biadasz has improved each year and took the next step.

Guys like you who said he sucked just cant handle it.

If he can be had for 8-10 million its an obvious resigning. Another pro bowl year and we may not be able to afford him.
