Fish on 105.3 the fan - Witten/Dez/Randle

Lot of fan outrage at Randle on twitter, wanting him to be cut.

That's funny, I wanted him cut right after his thwarted underwear and cologne ordeal, and I got flamed. Hmmmm.

I hope he is finally gone! Cut his sorry are!!!

This dude is just nuts. I mean, I get his point and all, and he's not wrong in the grand scheme of life, but he's still nuts.

I could see him being deactivated for a game... Especially since you know he's being looked at all kinds of sideways right now in the lockerroom.

This dude is becoming a cancer. No need to deactivate. Get rid of the bum!

No. He's saying shoplifting is less serious than domestic abuse and a drunk driving arrest that results in the death of a teammate. And he's saying it in a police station not knowing a camera is on him. This isn't fair to this guy, and unless he's making it worse and digging deeper in practice, I hope they work around it as a team.

Well I wouldn't disagree with him but here is the thing.

1) He doesn't need to discuss other team mates business with police when he's in trouble.

2) Brent has been suspended, went to jail, and done far more for what he did (Although I'll agree he didn't have to do enough, but that's personal opinion there) then Randle has had to do for being a thief.

I think the worst quote was "we have a killer on the team" referring to Josh Brent. Randle seems to be more of a distraction than anything at this point. I was excited about his improvement in play this year, but apparently you can't fix stupid.

He's not justifying. He's putting it into context when he didn't know there was a camera on him. He's right that his offense is relatively minor relative to what some of his teammates have done. Dez is a superstar, but Brent's a player on more or less the same footing as Randle. It's relevant that both of those players are playing after much more serious incidents.

It goes back to entitlement. He's essentially saying he has the right to shoplift and not be suspended because his offense is relatively minor compared to those of his teammates. He needs a rude awakening. How he's acting on the practice field seems to indicate he hasn't gotten one yet.

Well, I think he was saying shoplifting is not grounds for getting cut from the team if domestic abuse and intoxication/manslaughter were not for his current teammates. I'm not sure that's entitlement. I think that's just putting the offenses in a meaningful context.

Now, it's starting to dribble out that some of those comments might have also been pretty disrespectful, which is a different matter as far as I'm concerned. It's one thing to try to put your own offense on a scale, it's another to bash your teammates on some very sensitive topics and then go back into the locker room.

If I shoplifted, and my attitude was basically, hey, other guys at my office have done worse so I'm not going to get fired for it, that's entitlement IMO. It would be me believing a have a right to something when I don't, just like he doesn't have the right to not expect consequences for his crime just because Dez and Brent weren't suspended.

Something needs to be done to knock that entitlement chip off his shoulder, if it hasn't already. Maybe that's what Dez and Witten are doing.

After reading this thread I feel like I just sat though a bingo tournement for old women..... And an arguement broke out about coupons....and where the best deals were.

It's not entitlement, it just means you're probably guessing right.

It's also not fair, I don't think, to suggest he didn't expect consequences. In fact, that fact that he's mentioning it makes it pretty clear that he did expect consequences. He just wanted to avoid getting cut for it.

If the $30k fine probably was pretty sobering. If not, I agree that whatever Dez and Witten do, he deserves.

I'll agree with the second paragraph, but only from the standpoint that he clearly did not expect severe consequences. If he expected to be kicked out of the league, suspended without pay for several games, etc., he probably would not have shoplifted considering that it wasn't a money issue. That to me is the epitome of entitlement.

This is a little different than your average tiff. This is one teammate throwing another under the bus behind his back. I'm not even sure how Randle can show his face in that locker room anymore.

Oh, I have no doubt the Randle is in a bind with it... however, I was replying to the team starting to fall apart with a loss... and that I don't think is even close to being true.
