That's why we should make our move now. Let's say we wait until the verdict and Hardy is given no suspension. Teams will be lining up willing to offer him big money. If we get him now while there's still uncertainty, we won't risk losing out on him. It's a gamble since we might pay him and find out he'll be missing games.

His agent (Rosenhaus) wont sign him now to a bargain deal.

Don't worry about those guys. Fisher and Rapoport make a lot of noise but they really won't force the issue much. And Schefty, well, Schefty is a bleeder so after one good shot to the nose, he's heading for the Barn. I think you are good.

I don't know, Schefty is offering me a free desert at Golden Coral (I think it is that chocolate water fall thing) you guys are going to have to come to the table with something better or I might have to go that route.

Who has leverage now.

Didn't someone say it was brought up on NFLN (contract negotiations)?

Not me. I simply go for the free content stuff and read about the breaking news 3 days after the fact. I'm good with it.

Raiders owner said no.

Yes, I saw that report but it's difficult to completely believe anything that is reported these days.

I assume that Dallas was waiting for the Raiders or Jax to be "out" before they got into the negotiations. I think the Cowboys might have finally learned that agents use any interest by the Cowboys to drive up the price with other teams on free agents. The go to move by both agents and media seems to be to link players to the Cowboys.

Fisher is trolling cowboys fans. and a lot of you folks are falling for it.Jerry and Stephen have made it clear. they are not going to pay for the big time free=agents anymore. they haven't done in in going on 4 years now. this troll job from Fisher is nothing new. i will believe it, when i see it.

Gooddell is such a dbag for dragging out the process. He is absolutely doing it intentionally to hurt Hardy's pocket book. This is one of the reasons I think Hardy would easily win an appeal. And, as other posters stated, one of the reasons we should pounce now.

Then again, knowing Rosenhaus he either wants him to be paid like a choir boy, or a one year incentive laden deal. I see the Cowboys, rightfully, balking at both.

On top of that the chances are about 99% that the Cowboys have already done their due diligence on Hardy and talked to his agent, people around the legal situation, the NFL Front Office, etc. For a team that was one Hardy-type of DE away from the Super Bowl it would be malpractice not to, to have an intelligence answer yes or no if nothing else.

If the team can find guys like Selvie and Jeff Heath at the far ends of the Earth, they can definitely make a few phone calls about one of the premier FA's available - especially when he is at the biggest area of need.

Blue Checkmark next to the name, check @NFL and compare it to @NFL_Access and you'll see what I mean

Ok cool, thanks!
I'd think it would be violating a law using the NFL logo.

I don't think that this is what Jerry and/or Stephen have said. I think they said that they weren't going for the Tier one guys. Suh is the Tier one and they didn't do that. I think they have had interest in Hardy for a long time but they simply needed to let him find his market and get the Murray thing settled. Now, I think the time is right. Doesn't mean we will get him but I suspect the interest is very real.

Yahoo's Charles Robinson reports there's "nothing imminent" between the Cowboys and free agent Greg Hardy.

However, the Cowboys appear to very much be looking into the ex-Panther. NBC Washington's Dianna Marie Russini reports the Cowboys have "talked to Hardy's old coaches to learn more about his character," and have so far "(liked) what they've (heard)." The Cowboys need a pass rusher to pair with second-year pro Demarcus Lawrence, and Hardy would offer mammoth upside at what should be a discount price.
