They're playing virtually the exact same style of football they did in 2014 with Romo at QB.

Had he not gotten injured, there is no reason to believe this team wouldn't be sitting at 5-1 or even 6-0 right now. And there's no reason they will change the style if and when he returns. If anything, they'll have plenty of incentive to stick with it to protect him from injury.

Exact same style minus the screens, roll outs, play action, read options, bootlegs, etc.

The offense is a lot different, and suited towards Dak. Zone reads and a lot more roll outs. A ton of empty set shot gun as well. I can't believe they have actually changed to suit a different QB! However, Dak is a lot different then Romo when it comes to the pocket, and his size and strength he has. He brushes off arm tackles that Romo would go down on.

I like both, but I think you continue to play the hot hand. Romo will be needed at some point this year IMO.

This is Linehan and Garrett being smart. "OK, we're going to be using Dak as the starter for the first 6-8 games. What are his strengths? Well let's put in some rollout and read option plays for him and Zeke."

Once Romo can complete a triathlon...I say...start the man!

It's obvious that they're just using any/all stalling mechanisms at their discretion.

There was an original 6-10 week recovery window from his injury. We are now getting in to week 10 of that recovery, and he isn't even able to practice yet. Eventually, people will stop eating all the BS Garrett feeds them with this issue.

I wonder how Romo feels, knowing if this were last season and the team was struggling, he would already be back on the field.

Romo's biggest issue is the young stud Prescott. His 2nd biggest issue is that he is old, brittle, slow, and injury prone. 3rd biggest issue is that he will be rusty.

Prescott looks like half the QB Romo is in the pic with them both. Literally.

Well, Vinny rolled off of his couch and came down at 40 to be a backup at QB, then ended up starting for the Cowboys, and George Blanda played until he was almost 50, so I don't think being in great shape is absolutely required to play QB in the NFL. What is required is being able to take big hits, and there is no way of knowing if Tony can do that. Starting him on the road at Pittsburgh is as good a way as any to find out, though, and it looks like that just might happen.

It took many months for Romo to morph into the out of shape condition he's in at this time.

From the look of his recent photos, the season might be almost over by the time he's right.

One can't help but wonder if that might be precisely what the FO has in mind to begin with.

Roger Staubach missed all of the 72 season and relieved Morton in one of the greatest playoff wins in Cowboys history, but then the following weekend had a horrendous outing against the Commanders. It could go either way.

Is the team and PR selling Romo back or what?? I love Romo but I just can't see us pulling Dak and screwing this up. I know Romo is good, but I like the way this team plays with Dak, with an attitude. It's just different even though it's practically the same offense.

I get sense people feel Dak will level off by time we get to Pitt game and there won't be must resistance to bringing Romo in.

It's funny as I get the feeling that he will only get better and better. He's only played 6 for crying out loud.

I am eager to see what the bye week did to him this week. Clearly this is the best defense we've faced so far. Who knows, we might be screaming for Romo by Monday!
