Prescott fanboys in a couple weeks
He's never had straight line speed. But in his prime, he was as slippery as a wet bar of soap.
or even 3-3, I bet he'd be playing this weekend. Dak has been a luxury to let Romo heal up all the wayI bet if the Boys were 1 - 5 his conditioning would be just fine...
I'm a Romo guy, but I honestly don't see Dak leveling off or slowing down. I think with each game he gets better and each season he'll get better. IMHO. I still wnat Romo to start when healthy and "conditioned" just because I think with Dak getting better each game he still won't cap out this year as well as Romo can play when healthy.I get sense people feel Dak will level off by time we get to Pitt game and there won't be must resistance to bringing Romo in.
Afigueroa22 likes this.Yeah, conditioning.
He'll be back on the condition that Prescott craps the bed.
And we may use this excuse for the next month.
thisFat.
The offense is a lot different, and suited towards Dak. Zone reads and a lot more roll outs. A ton of empty set shot gun as well. I can't believe they have actually changed to suit a different QB! However, Dak is a lot different then Romo when it comes to the pocket, and his size and strength he has. He brushes off arm tackles that Romo would go down on.
I like both, but I think you continue to play the hot hand. Romo will be needed at some point this year IMO.
Exact same style minus the screens, roll outs, play action, read options, bootlegs, etc.
You don't think Romo ran playaction or screens?
They run rollouts for Dak to play to his strengths. Romo is a pocket passer and a highly skilled vet that is like a coach on the field. He doesn't need those types of play design. I'm not sure why people are using the play designs to knock Romo when they are using these play designs to help Dak and limit mistakes. This what good coaches do for young QBs.
Parcells said that Vinny was in better shape than several much younger players.Well, Vinny rolled off of his couch and came down at 40 to be a backup at QB, then ended up starting for the Cowboys, and George Blanda played until he was almost 50, so I don't think being in great shape is absolutely required to play QB in the NFL. What is required is being able to take big hits, and there is no way of knowing if Tony can do that. Starting him on the road at Pittsburgh is as good a way as any to find out, though, and it looks like that just might happen.
What? Dallas ran empty set shotgun with Romo a lot. Yes they run the zone read, but that's not the end all. We saw what it did to bob3 and it's going to get Mariota killed. Kap is a shell of his former self and it's taken a toll on Wilson as he's playing injured. The zone read IMO is not sustainable longterm.
You need to go back and watch tape of Romo again I think you're memory is cloudy.
He looks like he's at a good weight in this picture:
Everything I have read about it says it is not a degenerative injury. As long as they let it completely heal he should be at 100%. I think we will see 2014 Romo again now that we have a good running back again.Ultimately, his issue is can his body actually withstand a tackle in an NFL game. They're obviously not going to put him at too much risk in a practice setting. Everyone will be holding their breath until it happens in a game.
