Bailey is one of the best players on the team. Nuff said.
LOL at those claiming we can easily find another as good. Look at our record and then try and say that with a straight face
Not for 2-3 million a year. That's the problem with Jerry. He will overspend for a kicker when you can get a decent one for the minimum.

I don't care how good of a kicker he is, if someone gives me a second rounder, I'm taking it.
If someone gave us a 2nd rounder for Bailey? I'd be okay with Jerry himself going out there and kicking our field goals.

whats that stat about us losing by like a combined 8 points for the entire season? We HAVE to have a great kicker with this team. I mean if you can get a 2nd rounder for him (which we won't) then obviously you'd take that. but you don't let him go if it comes down to paying him what he's worth. He's kept us in so many games, and i remember the Buehler days like they were yesterday. no thanks.
There is a huge difference between a "decent" kicker and Bailey.
Offer a 2nd rd tender? That difference right now appears to be a random 45 yard field goal kicked somewhere over the course of a 16 game schedule.
It's funny, in the offseason threads when dealing with what to do with Ware, Austin, etc. a few people said we should do what a well run organization like the Patriots would do. I think we all know what Belichick would do here.
As a result of the expiring NFL-NFLPA collective bargaining agreement, however, Gostkowski became a restricted free agent; the Patriots offered him the second-round tender of $1,759,000 for the 2010 season. Gostkowski signed the tender on April 17.[17]
