My only question is - when does that "future" begin?

You want me to blow your mind? Imagine that beard with Escobar's butcher stache.
It'd be the greatest player ever.
Which should tell you that the kid sucks at it. Watch him play, brother. I mean REALLY watch him play. He's a liability in the pass protection game (weakest link is pass pro by a mile *yes, worse than Doug Free*). The kid plays with a lack of discipline and balance in both pass AND run blocking. It's no coincidence that the running game has improved since Leary took over. Collins will have a highlight play here and there where he just absolutely DESTROYS the defender and those are fun to watch. He also has a ton of plays where he's looking to lay a guy out and he gets too far out in front of his feet and if he misses, he misses big. The kid is a monster but he's undisciplined. He got away with it in college. That **** won't fly in the NFL. If/when he learns to play with balance and discipline maybe you give him another look at RT. Until then he shouldn't even be the starting LG (healthy or not) with Leary still on board. But, but, BUT I keep hearing that Collins is our future RT on here......that tweet makes no sense. I mean they have worked Collins extensively at RT since last year-it should be his to lose.......at least that's the opinion of many on here....there's like 50 post on this in the last week

What?
He missed his 2013 season, played 11 games in 2014 at left and right tackle. Had an injury last year, but Free didn't miss a game anyways. And started a couple games this year before Smith returned.
But yes, he has had injury concerns in the past.
? Math doesn't check out. He's only been on the roster for a season and a half. The kid has only been healthy enough to play 2 games in 2-3 years. Then got hurt again....Doesn't sound like anything the team can count on. Sounds like a click bait post
A lot of talk about Leary being so much better than Collins here. Most of this is based on correlation, line = better, must be Leary! What happened this year is no different than how our line started in 2014 and 2015, it seems it takes them a few games to really get into peak form.
Also, Collins in his first year graded out about as well as Leary did in his 3rd. Some of you are REALLY propping up a good guard and making him look like an all-pro. He's not and never will be.
Dude you need to recheck your stats.... he wasn't drafted until 2015....have no Idea were you got he played 11 games in 2014 at Left Tackle..guess Tryon Smith took the year off. The kid is just collecting a paycheck.....
You said: "The kid has only been healthy enough to play 2 games in 2-3 years."
He hasn't been in the league for 2-3 years. This is his second year, if we go back 2 years, he was in college. Which he played 11 games (2 at LT, 9 at RT).
So actually, I need clarification on what YOU said.
And Collins is? That dude hasn't even sniffed Pro Bowl level (unlike Leary). I like Collins. How could you not? It doesn't change the fact that Leary is rarely out of position and almost never makes a mental mistake. You couldn't even dream about saying the same thing about Collins. Nice try.
It's NOT much different. But it's better. That's not debatable no matter how you spin it.His play is not that much different than Collins.
No OT in the first round ?I see Green taking over RT this year for good
Maybe Free comes back on the cheap as swing OT
LCollins is the LG after working hard to get better this year
Leary is too expensive to keep...too bad but we can get a comp 4th
Draft an OG/C middle late and/or keep Looney if coaches like him

.
Green could be the answer or he could be a cut. Also those 11 starts were out of 12 games that Florida played that year. He also started 29 games in his college career, which is more than most guys drafted in the NFL.
Green has missed time with injuries but he played through the entire SF game with an injury. If Tyron Smith was injuried he would have played in the last two games.
