Pollard is a system back who’s greatly benefited from splitting carries with Zeke. We’ll see how much he gets when free agency arrives but he definitely won’t get 12M per. That’s Derrick Henry money.
I was thinking Aaron Jones money.

Pollard could have gotten hurt earlier in the game when Fred Warner fell on a tackle but leg whipped Pollard in the shin for the tackle for loss. Should have been a penalty. I believe it was on the play Olsen pointed out Martin getting held.

We can’t afford Pollard because of Dak’s and Zeke’s bad contracts. You can thank our brilliant part time GM for that.

If Pollard won’t be ready till training camp, his marketability will be very limited.
He will have no choice but sign what’s offered.
guess again buddy.
He will get 10M per year.

The brilliant part time GM had them one game away from playing for the NFC championship.

Had surgery today. Had two injuries.

The lower injury doesn't need surgery will heal on its own.

But the high ankle sprain is what required surgery, described by fisher, was a nasty injury. Fisher being told this isn't a 3-4 month injury but won't be ready until training camp.

The twisted movement as he hit the ground is what cause injury. Surgery was successful

Cowboys future, NY giants offered barkley 12 mil per, Pollards price should be less
I don't want Zeke or Pollard give me two rookie RB's on rookie contracts and I'll be just fine one fast RB and one power RB

Well you're getting Elliot. So live with it in 2023, he's not going anywhere. Suck it up big boy

he isn't taking a cheap deal
he will get paid 9-10M in the market
Cool then he’s gone. You don’t pay 9-10!mil coming off injury after your Zeke deal

The last position the Cowboys should be throwing money or picks at is RB.

RB is the LAST piece of the puzzle.

Invest in OLine, DLine, secondary,...wait to resolve e QB sitch, ditch Dak in a couple years, and have a team ready for a good young QB.... the way S.F. and Philly did.

Hoping for a Mahomes or Burrow is like hoping to win the lottery.

This should not cause him any problems and I would be shocked if he is not ready when camp opens.

I've am going back and forth with Pollard, whether to re-sign him or not. On the one hand, you have a home run hitter, a proven weapon. And even though he might not be an every down back, he is still a real threat defenses have to account for. I firmly believe RBs can be drafted in the 3rd and 4th round. Even the 5th round is a possibility because it is no longer a high value position. But Pollard being a back that splits time, how much could he ask for on his new contract? Let's say he wants $6 million. Pay him, dump Zeke and draft a big bulldozer back who can plow up the middle for 1 yard. It still saves CAP room, especially in 2024.

On the other hand, Pollard got hurt twice this year. Is this a sign of things to come? Is he wearing down after 4 years? Probably not but why take a chance? RBs don't last that long.

I know there is the sense that RBs can be found in the draft but then how many RBs are there in the league who can do what Tony Pollard has done for Dallas? I actually don't know the answer to that question. But it seems like he is one of a few since he made his first pro-bowl. Do we really believe we can get another Tony Pollard in the draft? I have not done my pre-draft homework yet so I don't know if there is one or not. But it seems to me allocating 2 draft picks for RBs to replace Zeke and Pollard is a mistake.

But what I do know is we are talking about letting Zeke and Schultz go, do we let Pollard go too upheaving he offense? and take a chance on draft picks who may or may not do what Pollard has done? Pollard didn't do much in his rookie year. Why would we expect a draft pick to come in and replace him seamlessly.

I am leaning towards giving Pollard another deal just not a crazy deal like they gave Zeke. When Zeke got his deal he was already showing signs of slowing down. Pollard is not. He had his best year last season.

Then I go back to my belief that if the OL is good enough, any RBs can do a good job. Maybe it is better to put resources into the OL. Get a LG to replace McGovern who is a bulldozing run blocker.

I think this is one of the tougher decisions for Dallas.

Sounds like he had tightrope procedure to fix the high anlke sprain. This is bad news because that means there was major ligament damage.

Sorry, but I aint tagging a RB for $10 mill coming off an injury like this. Sucks for Pollard, but it is what it is.

And if the Ewok doesnt take a massive pay cut he can join Pollard in free agency as well.

i’m out on pollard and zeke as well. as long as we can block i’m sure dallas can find a dude in the 3rd or 4th round to run.

unless zeke is gonna play for 1M a season, i won’t sign him to anything higher. having zeke means plays lost. he’s finished.

Agreed................Zeke is nothing more than short yardage and blitz pickup at this point..............anything more than vet min and he can walk.

This is a deep draft for RBs, you can get good ones even in the latter rounds.

a lot of early talk on Bijan Robinson @26. i’m sure dallas will entertain this if Pollard and zeke go.
