The real money. The Cowboys could have offered 4 years 60 million with only 20 million guaranteed. He can get more then that on the open market. See why guys want guaranteed contracts.

So the 20 million is the only thing that matters??? So really it's 4 yr 20 million??

Let him walk. If we upgrade the wide receiver position there will be plenty of soft spots and seams for Ferguson and Hendershot to find.
Wrong…..if we upgrade the oline and get rid of zeke there will be plenty of soft spots with play action.

Schultz said no. He says at the combine there was no offer made. So it had to be recent. Foxsports saying Schultz willed up making 15mil ZAV
I thought there was no talks during the combine but after the combine they made him an offer, but he wants to be paid at the top of the market.

So many uncomfortable issues like ego, deceptive negotiating tactics, and honest self-assessment can make or break a contract agreement.

The offer was probably close to fair from the perception of the team as represented by the Jones's. Also, they are probably the more realistic when it comes to Schult's true talent level and value. However, I'm sure any agent is going to look at the market because, most likely, somebody is going pay.

Don't get me wrong. He is a very productive player. Does he deserve to get paid like he's elite, a playmaker? he can get open and he plays well within his system but can he force defenses, even good ones, to dedicate additional help? Is he as big play option in a time of need?

Again, he's efficient, consistent, and reliable and yet, he doesn't belong in the same class as Kelce, Kittle and Andrews.

You never know. Perhaps the market will be disappointing and he stays but I doubt it. There is almost always that one team that sees things differently. It wasn't that long ago when the Cowboys were that team.

Cap Boy with his "honest" and "respectable" offers:facepalm:

And we wonder why free agents never sign with Dallas..............hmmm

A lot of speculation here, but the truth will come out soon enough, but Dallas should move on anyway.

So the strength of this draft is RB and TE. Instead of using that knowledge we are trying to resign two veteran RBs and a TE. Use that money to sign positions that will be hard to fill with talent in the draft and draft RB and TE. This is not that hard Jerry and Stephen.
good point, but the jones boys are not that smart.
And........................... they like their guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know Beast, by now I think most players in the nfl or at least nfc, are gonna see that the jones boys dont want to pay
top dollar or even middle dollar, they want cheap to low ball deals for whoever it is.

I read they reached out to wagner, but he probably already knows these guys wont make a decent offer.

Exactly my friend!

I get not wanting to go crazy in free agency, but to basically not participate at all when there are players like a Von Miller who could be a major impact for the team........I just dont get it.

The last major free agent this team signed was who, Brandon Carr like a decade ago.

No. There isn't a chance that works out. He just had $11M guaranteed for 1 year, do you really think he's going to take $20M guaranteed for 4 years? $20M is probably what his signing bonus would be, but then you have to account for base salary guarantees, workout bonuses, and roster bonuses.

He graduated from Stanford. I'd say he's pretty smart guy. Chase the money because Dallas will never win another SB under Jerry.
