This team needs pass rush help now, not next year. The odds of getting significant numbers from a rookie are bad enough without the guy missing all of the offseason programs and likely a part of the regular season. The Cowboys don't have the luxury of waiting a year for McKinley, even if he were that good.

But it's not like he was an unquestioned, Jaylon Smith, top 5 talent before the shoulder surgery.

This in a nutshell.

The difference between a healthy McKinley versus a Watt or Bowser is not wide.

The gamble was Jaylon. We don't need another gamble. We need a fully healthy available player.

If we go DB or even say WR in the first and McKinley slides to 60, I'd consider him. He's not necessarily another Jaylon. Players have come back fine from what McKinley had. Smith was a big risk given the potentially catastrophic damage in his knee. I wouldn't take McKinley in the 1st, but would consider in the 2nd if he's still there. He's not the same injury gamble Smith was.

I can agree with this. McKinley will be back most likely midseason, and we might be kicking ourselves. I like Harris better and he's completely healthy. I would prefer a DB in the latter rounds as well. This is the deepest DB draft possibly ever. Don't waste it so early when you need pass rushers.

What is the big difference between McKinley versus Harris, Watt, Bowser? Zero, except he has to rehab. Easy decision to make if all are available.

I like McKinley more than Harris. I like Watt more than McKinley.

But I think I might like McKinley at 60 more than those other three at 28 (well, maybe not Watt. I really like him).
