People are making a big deal out of that?

And, really, who cares if a quarterback seems to be arrogant? If it means you're not going to listen to your coaches, okay. But if it's just a personality trait that you think you're overly confident in your abilities, so what?

Might actually be good to have a young QB that doesn't listen to the coaches around here.;)

I tell him to listen and remember every word Romo says to him and to put in his ear buds and zone out when that Red head starts talking.

No way I take Goff over Lynch. I take the highest rated player on the board, including a QB. QB is not anywhere near our top need, but you don't get these opportunities often...try going all the way back to the Aikman pick for the last time the Cowboys had a chance to take a blue chip talent.

If we are sitting with the 4 th pick and actually like the developmental talent of Lynch or Goff (neither is thought to be ready yet), it would be foolish to pass on a top talent at QB for a DT, LB, or CB.

Looking at the collapse this year I'd say QB was/is out #1 need
it lost us game after game

Yea, Lynch totally crapped the bed in his bowl game...................did not look like a top 10 pick at all..........maybe he just had a bad day, but dam.

Would be very worried picking him in the top 10.

Yeah I'm leery about picking a QB in the first round this year. I think Dak Prescott's a winner and I like Carson Wentz out of North Dakota State. They're no less of a sure thing than the first round picks. Lynch, Goff, and Cook have bust potential. Not saying they can't be good, but they don't look near anything like a sure thing.

If the talent is legit , it would be foolish to skip on a good QB with hopes of finding a solid third round talent that will never be capable of starting a game in the pros.

Exactly, if you have the first pick and Payton Manning is sitting there, you take him every time. This draft really doesn't look that IMO, I don't see the top guys having that much more potential than some of the 2nd and 3rd round.

Also the NFL has very few Elite QBs and more teams than quality QBs. The more likely scenario for Dallas is like the QB that beat us today. Kirk Cousins was a 4th round pick who did nothing for 2.5 year and still took time developing in game action to turn into a good, not great, QB.

Bring in RGIII, Moore, and Johnny Manziel into camp, and leave that to an honest competition.

That would leave the top of the draft and many more positions on the table, including productive trades.

That says my point even more.....

Our current O relies solely on #9 to get us in the correct play. So, we going to waste a 1st in a QB to learn our scheme, then HOPEFULLY become Romo by changing into plays?

NONSENSE
The alternative is drafting another position, which is not a "can't miss". I'd rather go after a potential future franchise QB in the first, than to continue wasting time drafting shiney players that hasn't gotten us to the big dance.

Goff is impressive. You say Matty Ice. I say Drew Brees. Regardless, he has all the intangibles (& is a gamer as proven yesterday).

Note to bargain shoppers: Goff won't be available in the blue light aisles.

Given their history, there's a major possibility Cleveland screws this up and delivers Goff to us.... assuming we don't end up drafting #8 because beating the Skins is soooooooo important.

And this sums it up perfectly.

If - Goff goes through the combine and personal workouts and gets the blessings of Kiper and McShay and is anointed a franchise QB he will NEVER get past the Browns because their fan base simply will not allow it to happen. They've screwed it up again and they have only one thing to sell and that's hope. BTW - this goes for any QB who emerges from the pack and is considered a consensus top five pick.

So no matter what we are looking at the second best QB in the draft. Then it gets messy. Is the second best QB who is projected maybe at 12-20 talented enough for us to take a chance on or do we make an immediate improvement at another position, possibly the RB Elliott (who I love) or WR Treadwell (who I love) or a defensive stud.

Whatever the case we're not going to get THE guy. We're always going to be looking at the second best guy.

Finally, I just can't see Jerry not going after Manziel at a bargain basement price in order proclaim to the world on the 10% chance Manziel can get his life together and really play that -- I told you so.

If goff isn't there we could get a defensive monster or we could do something like treadwell in the first and henry in the second
