This team will continue to be mediocre (if that) until we get better in the trenches.

That was the biggest difference in this game. Cleveland was way better in the trenches on both sides. Their $20m DE made game changing plays while ours is a glorified run-stopper.

We need 2 DTs and another pass rusher or the defense is going to continue to suck.

Id like to see us get a D'Aron Payne type DT in the draft. A guy that may not be the sexiest ( although I haven't seen him shirtless), but is very stout and is agile enough to push the pocket consistently.

Ill get back to you on DE's. We need to figure life out there. I just dont think I have a concrete take for you right now

Yeah, Ceecee is a nice player, Diggs will be good, but it just won't matter as long as we keep losing the battle up front.
I think this year in the draft we need to be agressive in getting a cornerstone defensive player. Luckily we have a little more draft capital to maneuver if need be.

I wouldnt change the CeeDee pick right now, because I dont think we passed on that guy that makes a big difference right now ( DT was wiped value wise and Chaisson is probably stuck behind Smith), but we need a young cornerstone

That's IF you can get Jerry to draft a big talented DT. He's been refusing for decades.

Im a Ceedee stan but in hindsight, I really wish we traded up for Kinlaw

100% correct.

Here is question for you: With Coopers looking like he could hot triple digit catches, can you sell high on him after the season? Would it he worth eating the dead money?

Ceedee could pay off more in the long run though. Having a #1 WR on a rookie deal for 5 years opens up some possibilities. I think he could a #1 right now

There were some things about Kinlaw worried me

I'd like to do some scouting on any college defenders who either have drug problems, or are coming off major injuries. If we could steal a few of those guys in rounds 2-4 I think we'll really be cooking.

these are the Stephen Jones cowboys. They will build around wide receivers and old washed up pass rushers and tell you how talented they are for 6 months before actually having to play football.

Eh, we've got too much of that on defense as is.

No way. I got my eye on a slow TE who can't get open in the 2nd round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think that’s a fair assessment. We wanted Donald but he went before we picked. We were interested in Brockers too, but we did something else that draft. We also wanted JJ Watt, but took Tyron instead. It’s hard to fault them for taking Tyron over Watt.

We have invested on the DL. Two picks for Tank in a trade up. Hill. Gregory. Taco the bust. We just havent been as successful drafting on defense.

Maybe, but Ceecee won't matter until both trenches are fixed.
We really weren't in a position to do much about in the 1st the season unless you wanted to make a pretty large. Top tier DT talent gone. Weak DE draft. Im not gonna make a another Taco pick because we need a DT or DE. Roster building doesnt occuring over just one season. There will likely be opportunities to add top level talent at those spots in the near future. A value like Lamb is just not something you pass on, unless you get a better value
