I repeat my question for the faulty logic crowd.

Dehomme > Romo?

He has won 5 post season games to zero.

That make shim better by the "logic" expressed earlier when people went overboard.

So would you take Delhome as our starter next year? If so what game are you watching?

Tony Romo needs a running game to reign him in. You give Romo a running game, we wouldn't even have this discussion. Cad Cameron runs the ball with his rookie QB and takes shots every now and then, not all the time. That is why the rookie doesn't turn the ball over like Romo... Hell, Marino had games where he just kept throwing INTs, and he could never win the big one because he didn't have a running game... Elway was the same way...

Unless our OC tries to run the ball, this discussion will continue...

Delhomme has maxed out his potential. We know what we have in him. Flacco, on the other hand, has loads of room to grow. That said, I wouldn't take either over Romo and I appreciate those in this thread that offered up their thoughtful opinions on the question.

C'mon Hos...

Jake just "pulled a Romo" tonight. He's a proven winner. He's won playoff games.

Jake yells, curses, and throws his helmet...that's leadership baby!!

and we almost had Delhomme in 2003 when he visted us and left w/o a contract. Who knows what would have happened? Oh wait, yes we do..no playoff wins. :p:

I already conceded that he has a bright future. What I appealed for was a sense of perspective. Sooner or later, they'll need more from him than simply "not making mistakes."

Its nice that you conceded.. but the facts right now are.. his is writing his future.

How much would you or I give for Romo to "not make mistakes" and win a playoff game?

For those saying they'd take Flacco over Romo let me ask you this.

The Ravens and the Cowboys are down by 9 points and needed 2 scores in the final 5 minutes of their games to win.

You putting your money on Flacco or Romo to win the game?

The point is Flacco is playing great, but all they are asking him to do is manage the game. He isn't ready to take over a game and win it if he has to. One day he may get there and he very well could end up being a better QB than Romo. Just because you are down on Romo don't be blind to what he can do.

I don't remember reading many replies last night where people actually said they would take Flacco over Romo. As expected, a lot of people pointed out some positives in Flacco. I wasn't drinking last night so the vision was 20/20. I don't remember seeing that en masse Hos.

Did you see that pass that Flacco threw that had to much air under it and somehow Mason caught it?, he got very lucky that wasn't picked, just imagine if Romo threw that pass?. I think the Ravens played not to lose the game on offense, Flacco kinda played scared and they didn't ask him to win the game.

Got to get a new qb coach....Wade Wilson just doesnt cut it!

I would tend to agree with that... That's why I say an offensive minded guru like a Mike Shanahan or Mike Holmgren would do wonders for Tony Romo.

To those advocating getting a new QB coach, I have one question. There are several posters in the Zone who are questioning Romo's leadership abilities. Will a new Qb coach improve Romo's leadership skills? As for me, I think a new coach could show him better skills, but leadership is an intangeable quality that comes from inside the player himself.

Inregards to the Flacco/Romo debate, here's what I see:
A. Romo has the better "pocket presence" (scrambling to avoiding the rush)
B. Romo is better at overcoming a "busted" play
C. Flacco has a stronger arm
D. Flacco gets better protection from his o-line (which frosts me)
E. Flacco's OC understands the importance of running the football to protect the QB.
Right now, Flacco has a slight edge on Romo, but this is based on items D. and E. which Tony has no control over. It is up to Jerry and Wade to correct these problems. I don't think Flacco is better, I just think he has played in a better situation this season than Romo, which has allowed him to excell.

As far as who I would rather have, there is no question, its Tony Romo :starspin

You're comparing apples to a double cheesburger.

Is Trent Dilfer better than Peyton Manning? Dilfer threw less picks, and advanced in the playoffs before Manning ever did.

What would Flacco be able to do in our offense? That's the question. I think he would put up monster numbers. What would Romo look like in Baltimore? With no receivers, an average O-Line and an average running game? He would look terrible.
