It doesn't look like the NFL is going to fine Fletcher for a blatant forearm to the head on Patrick Crayton.

I suppose if Fletcher just pushed him down or tripped him, he'd see a $50,000.00 fine?

It's nice to know an intentional attempt to injure is held to a different level.

Patients grasshopper. Sometimes it takes a full week for fines to come down.

Normally, Wade Phillips complains about these things, but he's got more important stuff on his plate right now. I'm just really glad that Crayton seems okay after that. It was vicious and intentional.

Isn't there some exception if the receiver becomes a "runner"? I remember Jenkins popping a Falcon in a similar manner, yet he wasn't fined.

Perhaps another snub for the Pro-Bowl was his punishment.

J/K

That hit was viscous and I am surprised Crayton did not receive a concussion. He was shaking his head to get the cob webs out right after.

If Bradie James would have done that he would of been ejected.

I don't think it was Fletchers fault that Crayton was being tackled from behind. that's what made it look so vicious. if Crayton wasn't being tackled he probably would have hit him in the chest.

That's true...but Crayton wasn't a runner yet, especially since it was ruled incomplete.

You got your wish.

Washington's London Fletcher fined for hit on Patrick Crayton

Washington inside linebacker London Fletcher was not penalized for his first-quarter hit on Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton Sunday at FedEx Field, but he was fined $10,000 by the league on Thursday.

Fletcher was fined for, "striking a defenseless receiver in the head area." It was a pretty vicious hit on a third-down throw from Tony Romo over the middle. Crayton, however, got up right away and did not seemed to be slowed at all during the course of the game.

No way they were letting this one go. Should have been $50K.

London Fletcher was fined 10G for the blatant cheap shot on Crayton but Brandon Stokley got a 25G fine for touching the tip of a refs finger!

Makes all the sense in the world. The NFL is run by clowns.

I actually think it makes sense because Fletcher's was more or less an accident and Stokley's was extracurricular. I think that something that happens after a play or that is clearly unnecessary/purposeful should get a greater fine every time. Even if the violence of the incident is less.

And Chad Johnson was fined like 20K for trying to give a ref a dollar. This isn't rocket science.

Anyone who has a problem with these fines is being hard headed.

...there is a bonus multiplier on the fine if it has anything to do with a ref.

Wow, $10 K for nearly breaking a guy's neck.

I guarantee you that if that was a Dallas player that did that, he would be suspended.:(
