All I can say is this:

Dallas without Murray = NO SUPERBOWL.

If you don't want to sign him for a long term deal then franchise him. 9.5 million for his type of production is worth it.

We can sign Bryant to a long term deal which can spread his cap space over a long period of time.

The next big signing would be Ro McClain. I say also give him a long term deal as well with incentives.

Murray will not easy to replace. Do you really think anyone on that list will be able to put up the same numbers as Murray?

Were not going to get AP in here because he will cost too much with a tainted past of child abuse.

Were also not going to be drafting a runningback with our high draft picks.

Lets just enjoy the ride while we can. We will not be able to replace Murray and his productivity.

The best solution is to franchise tag him. It would be worth it if he can give us another year like this year.

The idea of AD is that the tainted image and the fact that he's already made a dump truck of money might make him willing to take a deal that would be below his market value to play for a team he liked as a kid and has a legit playoff shot.

I'm not sure I like the idea of paying top dollar for any RB in this league right now. Murray is a very good complete back who hasn't played a full season yet in his career. AD is 29 but is a special talent as a runner. Lynch is mostly a less talented version of AD I think. McCoy is probably the best pass catcher of guys that's likely to come available. CJ Spiller is another guy who's quite likely to be on the market, even with the broken collar bone he's likely to get better then a 2 million dollar salary next year then his player option would pay. There are a plethora of useful RBs on the market this off season, it could keep the prices down and I doubt that Murray will be viewed as the top RB actually on the market.

Why do people think AD will cost too much?

His tainted image, added to the fact that he will be 31 will drive his price way down. He wont get more then what we offered Murray.

Why do we want AD? He has a tainted image and he will be 31. Plus he has suffered two major knee injuries. I don't care to have him in Dallas and I think he's going to be liability and a risk to breaking up the team concept.

I rather have Murray for the right price. He is younger and has produced throughout his tenure in Dallas.

Dallas just need to franchise him. Make him repeat his production next year.

We arent going to get Murray at the right price. There is no way way he going to play for less then 7 million a year, and franchising him at 9 million is crazy with the FA's we have.

What did AD do after the last time he tore his knee up. He ran for 2K. He still has a couple years at a very high level and he his issues dont make him a team distraction like Pac Man and Tank. Plus AD plays angry when the chips are against him

we do owe him something for this year. And it would keep him for next year while we find a replacement; and put some money in his pocket.

I don't think you can pay the "owe it" game in the NFL. Players never give back for contract they can't fulfill.

Could they franchise him? Yes. But I hope they don't.

In addition, league wide, paying the "franchise" fee has been a relatively poor return for most teams.

I'm hoping that DeMo and the Boys come to terms on a reasonable agreement. There is something to be said for playing behind the kind of line Dallas has developed and the chemistry / setting established in Dallas (that he seems to truly appreciate) + not having to pick up and move. I hope, I hope, I hope .......

Then we won't going to the Super Bowl. Fact is if we want to get to the big dance. We need to find a way to keep Murray.

Look at how much he has toted the ball this year and look at how backs with a similar workload fared the year after. Odds are Murray is going to fall VERY hard next year

The odds are not in his favor the only thing that would work in his favor is until this year his highest carry total was slightly north of 200 so he does no have previous years wear and tear on the body like a back that has shouldered the load from day 1.

I actually think Demarco would be more appealing than AP or Lynch.

Not more than AP. AP is a home run threat and can get you tough yards. Murray is probay better at pass protection and catching out of back field. I like Murray and like to reward him BUT his injury history really scares me. We could be stuck with dead money if he gets hurt. Only way I resign him is like Lee's contract with lots of incentives.
I don't want Lynch. To me he's just like MBIII at end of his careeif I can get AP for a two year deal average less than 8 mil than I take that.
