I don't want any defensive minded guys like Vrabel or do I want some 70 year olds like Pete Carroll and Bellicheat.

I have a hard time believing this. There is no way Bellicheat who hires his own coaches and players is going to come to Dallas and do the same and quite frankly I don't think the organization should even want that. Personnel wise you run circles around Bellicheat. He's still a good defensive mind. I can't even imagine Stephen, McClay, etc. working hand in hand with Bellicheat to build this roster.

Drafting stupid players is compounded by keeping the same stupid players.

When a player on a Belichick run team rarely did something stupid they would take THEMSELVES out the game.

No coach here will ever get rid of a Jerry picked player unless Jerry makes that choice
I also think Bellicheats way of coaching is outdated. And he's never going to change. Its why they went with Mayo. He comes from the school of Bellicheat but he's young enough to know how to coach these young guys. Something Bellicheat has no ability to do anymore.

I still think he can still game coach , with a DC and OC dealing with the players ,but picking players is strictly out

As far as "identifying" with the players it's true that the current crop has to be handled very delicately. That's why when Eric Bienimy started making players accountable in Washington, the young players cried like babies to Rivera

I guess Bienemy isn't able to relate either, lol

But then are you even getting Bellicheat? What made Bellicheat great was him finding diamonds in the rough and coaching his *** off on defense. It seems like you're getting a glorified defensive coordinator at this point....which I don't think its the case. Bellicheat ain't giving up nothing lol. I don't believe he will.

This sounds like something that’s more like Jerry’s idea of motivation, so this was leaked.

Anyone could get this team pumped to play today, but they are still going to shoot themselves in the foot at times.

Is that really on the head coach? Is he supposed to scream at players and tell them to stop being stupid, or should we stop drafting stupid players?

Jerry wants to try to steal a pass rusher late in round two. The trade off is he is a numbskull with penalties. Mike is supposed to do what? Cut him?

Jerry would have to make serious changes to get Belichick here, which isn’t even such a coup anymore.

If you think about it, there’s no way this is real…. it’s Jerry trying to pull a Jimmy with the headline crap. Again.
Chip Kelly has one of my favorite locker room interview quotes....

When asked about problem players in practice and if his philosophy was to scold...he said "Thats Harry High School stuff"

I think I agree with this. Its on the GM to get professionals in the building. This quote was Chip when in the NFL with Philly.

There are quite a few people that think the Drill Sargent way is the only or best way. It might be if you are trying to squeeze every last drop of juice out of a fruit...but do Humans respond well to that these days? In the above case...sure...the player is wrong. Im not saying let go of problem rookies and lose draft assets because you dont want to try being hard on them...but I dont know if being a tyrant works these days. Sure you dont want to have to give up on a guy because you dont want to try and correct him.

I just remember Jimmy being chased down and cursed off the field by Cowboy players after the first meeting of the Cowboys and the Jimmy Dolphins. Those guys obviously had issues with a dictator. And...Jimmy said it in his Ring of Honor speech...."I know a lot of you all saw me as a tyrant...but you stuck with me...because you knew and could see I was pointing the team in the right direction"

I dont doubt the style works and produces results...I just think there is a fine line. These days I think its easy to lose a locker room with that style. Chip wasnt into though lol

My choice would be Vrabel. Although he learned the Patriot Way, he still has his own identity and toughness that this team would do well to emulate
By this time next week. Vrabel will be the Eagles head coach.

Hopefully, that will pressure Mike, he seems pretty laissez faire.

If there’s. Change, I’m definitely open to Bill coming in. He’s a defensive genius

Can go hard to soft, but not soft to hard. By that, I'm just referring to their personality styles. One is a people person, one is not. I could easily see Belichick losing the locker room after they are used to guys like Coach Mac, Harris and DQ.

The window is a lot smaller than people realize. Have potential to lose Tyron, Zack, Hank, and Gilmore all at once due to age. That's a big chunk of veteran contributors. This year's draft didn't build enough immediate depth at critical positions unless you think Bass will make it.

So not sure if a coaching change will do much at all. Have to fix both lines and running game, and if Belichick comes in, we also have to convert to a 3-4.
