I still think he can still game coach , with a DC and OC dealing with the players ,but picking players is strictly out

As far as "identifying" with the players it's true that the current crop has to be handled very delicately. That's why when Eric Bienimy started making players accountable in Washington, the young players cried like babies to Rivera

I guess Bienemy isn't able to relate either, lol
Skid fan? Interesting development. LoL

But then are you even getting Bellicheat? What made Bellicheat great was him finding diamonds in the rough and coaching his *** off on defense. It seems like you're getting a glorified defensive coordinator at this point....which I don't think its the case. Bellicheat ain't giving up nothing lol. I don't believe he will.
A fool like Panthers owner could very well give Belichick the keys to the kingdom as GM and Coach

Chip Kelly has one of my favorite locker room interview quotes....

When asked about problem players in practice and if his philosophy was to scold...he said "Thats Harry High School stuff"

I think I agree with this. Its on the GM to get professionals in the building. This quote was Chip when in the NFL with Philly.

There are quite a few people that think the Drill Sargent way is the only or best way. It might be if you are trying to squeeze every last drop of juice out of a fruit...but do Humans respond well to that these days? In the above case...sure...the player is wrong. Im not saying let go of problem rookies and lose draft assets because you dont want to try being hard on them...but I dont know if being a tyrant works these days. Sure you dont want to have to give up on a guy because you dont want to try and correct him.

I just remember Jimmy being chased down and cursed off the field by Cowboy players after the first meeting of the Cowboys and the Jimmy Dolphins. Those guys obviously had issues with a dictator. And...Jimmy said it in his Ring of Honor speech...."I know a lot of you all saw me as a tyrant...but you stuck with me...because you knew and could see I was pointing the team in the right direction"

I dont doubt the style works and produces results...I just think there is a fine line. These days I think its easy to lose a locker room with that style. Chip wasnt into though lol
I dunno.

I’m gonna be as crushed as all of you if they lose today, or even next week….

But I can’t blame it directly on MM when you consider what he has/had to overcome here.

You’re taking a full step back on offense with a new scheme which isn’t broken, and Bill isn’t bringing his trophies. Those stay in Foxboro.

These games often come down to the ball bouncing the right way. If they lose it won’t be because of McCarthy….and firing him won’t fix what loses that game.

He is signed. He has done well. Jerry has said so.

This is nothing but Jerry’s idea of motivation. It’s weak, and it’s awful, but something any HC has to overcome here.

Think BB is signing up for that? LOL.

The guy who goes out of his way to say as little as possible is coming here? LOL.

How about we just win some games and make it all moot.

My opinion is...Bill doesnt care about wanting full control anymore. He wants to slide onto a team with a decent QB and a lot of talent, get his most wins ever award and retire.

Question is...what teams with playoff aspirations want possibly a short term Coach?

I could be wrong...I just dont think Bill is in the league in 4 or 5 years and I dont think he wants to tread water on a team that could miss playoffs and tarnish is legacy even further?

Not a good move at all for office or on the field results. But I'm sure the media and Jerry love the rumor mill flowing......even if it is unnecessary and unfair at Big Mike's expense or at this team's expense. Can we just play GB today?

I also think Bellicheats way of coaching is outdated. And he's never going to change. Its why they went with Mayo. He comes from the school of Bellicheat but he's young enough to know how to coach these young guys. Something Bellicheat has no ability to do anymore.
The league is trending to these younger coaches, I like it a lot!!

Florio was the guy who wrote his book and revealed that Jerry was working under the table with Saints to trade for Sean Payton even though in public he was pimping Jason Garrett.

Jerry never denied that rumor. Don't be surprised if this is true and Florio using his same sources.

I love Big Mike more than most on here. What he’s done over the past three years is amazing, and especially what he’s done with Dak’s mechanics for this past season.

Having said all that, if we lose today I wouldn’t be against this move. It would be embarrassing, and humiliating. I mean in all reality, we lose and Philly advance and make it farther? Unfathomable but realistic at the same time.

If we do lose the whole organization needs a shift and an alpha like Bill. That’s the only thing I could ever see working.
Anything short of NFC championship I say make the move. I realize MM has done well, but titles won should be the goal and if we are short then look to get better. BB can replace Quinn and we can add a good OC for Dak. Change is scary, but would be necessary in my opinion.

:hammer:

I think the tricky one is if we lose next round. Didn't flop for at least one round, but didn't move the needle either.

Can't stand watching the sourpuss expressions on Bill's face!
That, alone, would turn me off as a player.

Bill & Jerry wouldn't mix as partners.

Both are far too controlling!

Typical Jerrah move. His last big splash.

I guarantee you BP told Jerry to get Belichick if he ever became available.

It seems like a weird pairing at first BUT if you think about Belichick has struggled in personnel, primarily drafting, which is now a strength for Dallas.

Culture, along with X's and O's, is where Belichick could help this franchise take it to the next level. He isn't the de facto GM and just focuses on the players he has (and has drafted for him), with similar input that McCarthy and Quinn have now.

This is all assuming an unfortunate early exit by this team.

I said it before Florio. My criteria is if they lose today, Bill or Quinn will be the new HC.

There is no way we can go forward with diminishing returns in the playoffs.
Yes, we debated all this before season began. Nothing has changed just because we feel good about the season. Set highs down and the lows up. Bottomline is Mac has to progress.

And the other debate I remember that was heated in preseason was that Coach Mac takes the heat before Dak. Dak's time is next year if he stumbles. But he's earned himself a new coach and another year if the Boys stumble. Which hopefully they won't.
