I hear you.

I sorta hope this team is so young that it doesn't know (or care) that it's not suppose to win.

You're a Flyers fan, Mikey?

I hope you are right but the rangers had our # all year. Maybe this series can give them confidence and they can beat the rangers if and when they face them.

Yeah.

Since 1974.

Cool. I have been a Flyers fan since the beat up on the Russians in 1976 and went to Fred Shero's hockey camp in 1978.

Well, shoot. You guys got to enjoy a Cup then. I've been a loyal fan since the mid 80s. My older brother is a diehard Flyers fan, so I had the influence. I'm still waiting for a Cup.

The Flyers are a weird team. They have been a pretty good team for most of the last 30 years and just can't get over the hump.

Excellent. I assumed you were a Sabres fan.

I wasn't even a teenager when the Sabres/Flyers met for the cup. I was sick of all the hoola that followed the Sabres that season and thought the way the Flyers were beating people up was pretty cool so I wanted them to win. :)

I watched the Russian game. Ed Van Impe was my favorite player.

Needless to say I was pleased. :)

8-4 win. Up 3-0 in the series. Another crazy game with a ton of fighting.

20 goals in 3 games. Ridiculous. Bryz has a goals against of 4 and hasn't lost a game.

After the second cup, the team kept putting out competitve squads year after year.

But then there was the run by the Canadians...

And the Islanders...

And then the Oilers...

I kept thinking that one of these years the Flyers had to get another cup– but no. There was always that one team that was a little better.

The thing is, even with this performance against the Pens, I don't think it bodes well when they meet the Rangers. Totally different team. You aren't gonna win shootouts against them.

My first memory of the Flyers was Hextall standing on his head only to lose the Cup to the Oilers. Whatever year that was. I believe Hexy was named MVP of that series in a loss, he was so brilliant.

Incredible.

Incredible how bad the Pens defense/goaltending is.

They looked like they completely lost their composure today. You had stars fighting, cheap shots galore. They may have two guys suspended after this game.

Hopefully the implosion lasts for one more game. :)

Great game this afternoon, the Penguins exposed on national TV.

Tough to keep playing the victim card after that performance.

Yeah, he played great that series.

Bad luck. Seems like the Flyers have always had a black cloud of bad luck following them. The Lindberg death. Bad injuries cutting the careers short for Bob Dailey, Tim Kerr and Lindros... Even Pronger's injury this year.

Yes a lot ** tragedies and bad luck has followed this team over the years.

The rangers scare me though. I don't think we can beat them and that sucks because I feel the same way about the rangers as I do about the :giants:
