I sorta hope this team is so young that it doesn't know (or care) that it's not suppose to win.

jgboys1;4507719 said:Cool. I have been a Flyers fan since the beat up on the Russians in 1976 and went to Fred Shero's hockey camp in 1978.
Risen Star;4507735 said:Well, shoot. You guys got to enjoy a Cup then. I've been a loyal fan since the mid 80s. My older brother is a diehard Flyers fan, so I had the influence. I'm still waiting for a Cup.
The Flyers are a weird team. They have been a pretty good team for most of the last 30 years and just can't get over the hump.
MichaelWinicki;4507842 said:After the second cup, the team kept putting out competitve squads year after year.
But then there was the run by the Canadians...
And the Islanders...
And then the Oilers...
I kept thinking that one of these years the Flyers had to get another cup– but no. There was always that one team that was a little better.
Risen Star;4507841 said:8-4 win. Up 3-0 in the series. Another crazy game with a ton of fighting.
20 goals in 3 games. Ridiculous. Bryz has a goals against of 4 and hasn't lost a game.
MichaelWinicki;4507849 said:Incredible.
Incredible how bad the Pens defense/goaltending is.
Risen Star;4507844 said:The thing is, even with this performance against the Pens, I don't think it bodes well when they meet the Rangers. Totally different team. You aren't gonna win shootouts against them.
My first memory of the Flyers was Hextall standing on his head only to lose the Cup to the Oilers. Whatever year that was. I believe Hexy was named MVP of that series in a loss, he was so brilliant.
jgboys1;4507666 said:Nice!
MichaelWinicki;4507859 said:Yeah, he played great that series.
Bad luck. Seems like the Flyers have always had a black cloud of bad luck following them. The Lindberg death. Bad injuries cutting the careers short for Bob Dailey, Tim Kerr and Lindros... Even Pronger's injury this year.
