I remember that series, it was awesome. I loved taking you guys out....Philthy (cause I hate every team Philthy), Washington(mainly because of #8), and Detwaw (always hated them, they remind me of the Soviets) are the 3 teams I hate the most, though the Rangers have now entered into the mix, but only cause they are really good right now.

To be honest, I'm NOT getting my hopes up just yet on the Flyers. Sure their playing awesome hockey, but.....will that continue?! I know what you mean about Philly, I can't stand those E-gals nor their fans. I'm a diehard Phils & 'boys fan, that will NEVER change.

Not a sixers fan either, big fan of King James. Poor guy, gets all the flack like Romo. Just hoping he'll win a ring soon. He's def on a better team to do so. Last year he choked big time arghhhh.

The Rangers will be tough to beat. Flyers had issues with them during the regular season. Don't jump ship just yet, the Pens still have a chance.:D

James actually deserves the flack he gets though. Not only is he a postseason choker, but he's a pompous doushenozzle as well.

daboyz, I can't stand the eagles either. Love the Phils, Flyboys and Sixers though. It's not looking good at all for the Sixers. It's almost better for them to just miss the damn playoff's entirely. At least Milwaukee and the Knicks are both playing good basketball right now. We can't even say that.

Hey phillycard. You're stuck in E-gals country too I see lol. The Sixers started out fantastic. Couldn't believe how good they were playing, really thought they had a chance to do something this year. All of a sudden it's like Reid took over coaching them. What is it now, their 9th loss in 13 games. Talk about an implosion.

What do you think of the Phils this year? Have to admit, I was panicking already. Can't stand seeing Howard sit in the dug out. Heard Lidge blew a few closers already. Best thing they ever did getting rid of that bum. Why Blandon is on the starting rotation this year is another question mark for me.

That "bum" was a pretty important piece to a world title in 2008.

The Phillies got old quick. The only shot they have is to go the San Francisco Giants route. Great pitching and just enough offense.

Old with major injuries. That's a bad combination.

Howard was heading downhill even before the Phillies gave the big contract extension... Then the achilles tear. Ouch.

Utley's knees aren't going to ever be like they were just a few years ago.

The Phils have some problems.

They have problems and with no farm system to bail them out. They have some good prospects but they're all on the lower levels. Nobody's near ready to play in the big leagues. The one future "star" Dominic Brown looks to be a bust.

That epic pitching staff is nice but it gutted the organization. Now as long as they'll continue to spend like the Yankees, they should be able to retool but there's going to be some kind of transition period first.

So, he had a perfect season. What's he done since? Better yet, what has he done before the Phils? Cost us alot of games last season & prior season' as well.

Great pitching doesn't get a team anywhere, the 2010 Phillies were the perfect example. Look what happened to the Braves, they too had great pitching. Phils offense isn't consistent, they go from one hit to 14 hits in two games.

They sure do. Rollins is getting old as well. Utley will never be the same.
As far as Howard, 100 plus RBI's 5 consecutive years is hardly "heading downhill".
Neither are the rest of his stats "before the Phillies gave the big contract extension".

Howard was definitely on the decline. To the point of being an embarrassment towards the end of last season. He's regressed as a hitter.

When he first got into the bigs he was a really good opposite field hitter. You rarely see that anymore. He's looking to pull everything out of the stadium.

The problem with Brown is he doesn't want to listen. Batting coach showed him over and over again why Brown was having problems at the plate. Brown had no intension on listening, nor still does.

He can't field either. Besides hitting and fielding, he's a pretty nice prospect.

i can't believe this guy was considered one of the gems in all the minor leagues and one of the prime targets in trade talks two years ago.

Yeah, Howard was decreasing... Last year's OPS was his lowest– ever. 2010 was his previous low.

And his slugging % was less than 500. In 2010 he was barely above 500.

On top of that he's not taking walks like he was earlier on in his career.

Good player? Yep.

Just not as good as he was.

He set all kinds of records with the Reading Phillies. Couldn't wait for the Phils to bring him up. Now I wish they hadn't lol. Guess the majors got to him.

Granted he was .253 but that came with some goodies. Hittiing 33 HR's and 116 RBI's. Mercy, that was his 6th consecutive 30 HR's and 100 RBI season, setting a franchise record.

Howard was fourth among all active major leaguers in career slugging percentage 560 behind Pujols ARod,and Braun, and ninth in career intentional walks.

I'll take that .253 (along with other Phils fans) with that many RBI's and HR's any day. Howard sprained his ankle and was on the disabled list for 15 days. That alone brings the batting avg. down. But he hit his 255th HR in only 855 days which passed Kiner's record of all time. And again 30 HR's and 100 RBI's. Without Howard, the Phils aren't going anywhere this season.

It's nervous optimism right now daboyz. Our lineup just really seems to lack any punch without Chase and Ryan. If we can tread water until June, we may be able to turn the corner. The fact that the damn Nationals are tearing it up irks me to no end.
