Football Experts... Uh, Stadium Scoreboard...

doesn't matter if you were standing or not when the video was taken, the height angle difference from that view wouldn't make a difference if you were standing or sitting, but in the second video, the board is clearly higher than it was before the U2 concert

That is not correct. There would be a difference if he was standing while shooting one video and sitting while shooting the second video. It just would not be that great of a difference. Perhaps maybe a foot of difference or a little more when looking across the field.

If they raised the board 5 feet, the difference in view would be greater than that 5 feet when looking across the stadium depending on the seat location.

There's only one way to solve this.

WoodysGirl is sitting in my seats for the Seahawks game. We need her to take some pictures across the field, both sitting and standing, and then we can compare them to the picture in my signature (since I can't remember if I was sitting or not when I took it).

Then I suppose we need to factor in the height difference between the two of us, and make sure that she's using the same kind of lens.

Then we'll put all the pictures in an unmarked envelope and send them all off to Roger Goodell, making sure to cc Jeff Fisher in the process!

And we can ask Jerry to lower and raise the curtain to make sure the sunlight is not creating some sort of optical illusion.

I don't recall anyone saying it would be hit every week. Then again, I didn't read every article about. If ya read one, ya read all of em.

Believe me, I ain't making this up. According to the mediots, this was a gigantic issue that would occur every game. I would read articles or watch TV and scream 'can they lift the videoboard?' which I didn't know if they could or not but I thought it would be an obvious question to ask, which almost none of them did.

I was talking to an Atlanta Falcons fan this past weekend before the game and he's actually a builder and he still thought the videoboard couldn't be lifted and Jerry made a huge blunder, just because the media led him to believe early on that this was a huge blunder made by Jerry and company.

really...really...did you not know what i was talking about. you are that same guy that checks spelling and gramatical errors in posts as well aren't you?
If he was, he'd point out that you should use an apostrophe at the end of a question, albiet a rhetorical one. Also, he'd note that grammatical is spelled with two m's, and that you should have used a comma before "aren't you" to avoid the dangling modifier.

I was in section 216 and the last row. When I was sitting I could only see the bottom 15% of the screen and when standing I couldn't see any. This was due to the overhang from the 300 level. I find it hard to believe that the season ticket holders paid their PSL happily knowing they would only get 15% of it.

Anybody here a season ticket holder that has upper rows on the sideline 200 sections? Maybe they could comment..

I was in section 216 row 5 and I could see the whole thing, but I could easily see how the view would be blocked when sitting farther back.

How come nobody has hit it yet in a REAL game?

Did we forget about this HUGE issue? Hey, Clayton wasn't a QB going to run around and intentionally throw a ball against it to get a "do over?"

Jack *****...

I never considered this a big story. Titan punters were trying to hit the board.

If that's at the same seat, and your camera was in the same spot - relatively, it seems to be a small difference from afar - but, something tells me that's a pretty significant difference. That screen is freakin' huge, so the move looks small..
Theebs posted pictures from his seat, same position, and it looked raised.

I posted pictures from my seat, same position, and it looked raised.

It's been raised, there's no doubt about it.

Why would he use an apostrophe at the end of a question?

And you spelled "albeit" incorrectly.

This is incorrect.

The talk was how basically that if AJ Trapasso could hit it with a punt in one game, then the regular NFL punters would surely hit the videoboard every game and have to try and avoid it. Then these mediots went on to talk about how Jerry made this huge mistake. Of course, they never asked if it met NFL requirements and if the videoboard could be raised. They were just dying to knock the Cowboys and Jerry for being an idiot.

Not only that, when the NFL said that the videoboard could stay put, the mediots, particularly ESPN, claimed that this was a gigantic mistake for the league and how this would embarrass the game. Clayton then stated that a QB *should* try to hit the videoboard if the situation was right, although the situation never made any sense, it was pretty crazy to think that a QB could hit it with ease and if they missed it, then it's a live ball for the defense to possibly pick off.

Yeah, we needed this thread just to once again show and remind how much BS gets spewed by the media and how wrong they can be because they were too lazy to do research and too eager to knock the Cowboys.

They want to be credited when they break a story, then they need to knocked when they strikeout on a story.

Wouldn't the correct situation be when a QB wants to throw it away. Instead of losing a down, he could hit the board instead. Seems very hard to accomplish presently, but I'm sure the cyborgs of the future will have no problem.
