Dang these last few pages have been a downer. I was a Cowboys fan long before Jerry Jones showed up & I'm pretty sure I'll still be rooting for them no matter what happens. Just can't help myself. There's no other team I have enough interest in to follow like I do Dallas.

...FYI once I saw what we had at receiver last season, I really wasn't expecting making the playoffs. Luckily we had enough weaker teams on our schedule & DQ proved he's worth whatever Jerry's paying him.

It should be our standard. McCarthy made the playoffs his first year. He won a playoff game his second year to get to the divisional round. He has to get to the championship game round in order to show progress or Dallas needs to move on.

Reaching and losing the championship game would feel like a 'maybe next year' ending to the season that we have all experienced for 3 dang decades.

We haven't reached a championship game for three decades. Sure, I want more than that, but that would be a step in the right direction and buy McCarthy another year.

When the Cowboys lost to the Packers, in a game that was the equivalent of an NFC championship, do you think Landry and Schramm considered the team to be a success?

If Jerry Jones celebrates a season in which they lost in the NFC championship game, one step beyond a Super Bowl, we will know why the last 28 years was such a miserable failure.

Getting to an NFC championship game is a success only if the Cowboys had never been to one in the franchise's history. However, as we know, the Cowboys have been to 16 NFC championship games or their equivalent. They have won 8 of them.

Therefore, this franchise is not reaching a new point in their franchise history if they reach an NFC championship game.

All that we would be celebrating is the mediocrity of this team since Jerry took over football related operations.

Since there are 32 teams, that means each team, over the course of 32 seasons, will go to an "average" of 4 conference championship games.

The truth is that there are 3 top teams in the NFC...
1. San Fran I think is tops. Adding Hargrave to a great DLine is huge but who is the QB?
2. Philly obviously but they really lost a lot of players and, as of now, have a big unknown at RG. People think Cam Jurgens can step in until Kelce retires but you can't have an undersized C with a 300 pound RG next to him and who knows about the G they drafted in the 3rd round.
3. Dallas seems to have improved the most but time will tell.

Dallas is 100% in contention for the NFC crown.
