For 2023 to be a success, the Cowboys must reach the NFCGC

Story always ends the same though.
Until it doesn't. How long did it take for the Chiefs to win their 2nd Super Bowl? It was 50 years wasn't it? The 49ers haven't won in 28 years. I don't see you bad mouthing them. The Bills and the Vikings have never won. How many years is that?

The bottom line is that the Cowboys are good now in the present and have a decent chance in the NFC.

The NFC is really down overall. Once you get past Phil, SF and Dallas there’s not much.

AFC is so much stronger. And have all of the Elite QB’s.
And only one of those elite qbs can make it to the Super Bowl.

Jeez this is depressing.

This is where we find ourselves: just reaching the NFC CG, even if we lose it, is a successful season.

Philly views last season as a failure...and they WON the NFC CG in crashing fashion.

But if we just MAKE it...and lose....SUCCESS!!!!!!!

Not that it matters.....we won't make it.
"we" LOL

And plenty of you Philly fans were trying to state after your loss last year that it was a great year and how good it was t have made the SB

Difference is the Cowboys have to overcome Jerry's ineptitude as a GM, bad contracts, puppet coach hiring, and constant mettling as an owner. A GM should be an asset and not a liability. There is no shame in doing your best and getting your butt kicked. However there is shame in getting your arse whipped for 27 years and having repeated playoff failures yet refusing to change your ways.

This is where the wrath of Cowboy faithful comes from. He has stifled Cowboys success throughout the salary cap era that he fought hard to create. No major change coming until he is forced to step down via the grave.

What they have been doing recently is excellent. It isn't an accident that they are good.

Are you a winner because you retain lofty expectations for the Cowboys?

USED to be was a hell of a long time ago.

Would I rather be in the playoffs than out of them, even if that means not getting past the divisional round? Hell yes, I will have invested some 68 hours of my life watching them play in hopes they can extend those 68 hours.

Nope, I just like our team and like where they currently are at. I like it when they are good.
At least you admit you like things better than average and that is all.

Championship teams are not built on that attitude.

I love championship teams. This team has a chance. Championship teams aren't built with negative attitudes. I got to watch all of the Cowboy championship teams. The real fun is the ride to the championship. The current team has as good a chance as any team. I love where they are at and hope that they can pull it off.

State of the 2023 Dallas Cowboys: Heat is on Mike McCarthy, Dak Prescott to lead deep playoff run

Published: Jun 02, 2023 at 11:17 AM

Members of the Cowboys organization, Cowboys fans around the world and those who have "How ‘bout them Cowboys" as their ringtone ...
Dallas is coming off a second straight playoff berth, but a loss at long-time nemesis San Francisco in the Divisional Round overshadowed strides made last season. Are the Cowboys ready to take that next step this season? Well, before we look forward, it's always important to take a look back.

2022 rewind

One high from last season: The Cowboys were actually good last year. And I know saying "actually" is kind of a low-key diss because I seemed surprised. But they were actually good. A lot of people also thought the Cowboys would lose in the opening round of the playoffs to the host Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady. Instead, they went out and smoked them, 31-14, in Brady's last game ever.

One low from last season: Ezekiel Elliott lining up at center for the final play of the game against the 49ers. You can close your eyes and picture it right now. It wasn't bad, in theory -- much like Crystal Pepsi wasn't bad, in theory. Actually, it was a bad idea.

2023 VIPs

Quarterback: Dak Prescott. I love Dak. I do. But he can be frustrating at times. He was absolutely brilliant against the Buccaneers in the playoffs, racking up five total touchdowns and 305 yards passing. The following week, Dak threw for just over 200 yards with one TD and two interceptions in the loss to the 49ers. Not that one should be expected to light up a defense like San Francisco's unit, but Dak needs to avoid mistakes like the picks, especially the one in the red zone to Fred Warner. That was exceptionally exasperating. Maybe the switch to Mike McCarthy as play-caller will give us a more consistently great Dak. We're about to find out.

In the weakest NFC that one can remember Superbowl or bust baby.
If you're happy with anything else well GL with that!!!!

Pay them no mind. They believe beating their chest on an Internet forum makes them more of fans

You do you I like where they are as well.

There is also no other fan base that fully embraces this weak mindset.

They have become comfortable in the mediocrity.
I can’t speak for all of them . But for myself I’ll never be comfortable with this dysfunctional ownership but I have become numb to it. While it will always irritate me have lowered the bar as a result . I’ve attempted to promote not supporting them financially to no avail waving my white flag years ago. It is what it is.
