For the record, the Sportswriters did not represent me today at the PC.

Or maybe......

The fan base is a reflection of the press?

Maybe the casual fan doesn't know any better because the only input they have is from these mediots, and not the rational insight from Dallascowboyzone (mostly rational);)

then that fan needs to get off their duff and find alternative sources of info. easy enough these days.

Excellent point.

I completely agree.

The fan base, by and large, is totally clueless and dramatic.

I couldn't help but laugh because I can picture your avatar saying this.

I don't know how Bill does it, I would have ran out after the 15th stupid TO question. I see why he avoids those jerkoff$..

notice how Bill said one of the issues in his remaining a coach would be his energy level in dealing with these clowns? They are going to purposely drive him away so they could write, "See? we told you he would not stay here."

I'd like to see an appearance by 1920's Reporter Guy at a Parcells PC.

And Galloway, along with all the FWST and ESPN crew sucks. They're such a beating.

I was only able to view the first part of it but then I read the various comments which repeated the type of questions the sportswriters were asking. The media likes to grade the draft and Parcells' coaching tenure, I think the fans should grade the media.

I would give them a D today. They spent an inordinate amount of time questioning Parcells about TO. They have beaten that horse to death. They didn't seem too interested in discussing the draft, the health of the players recovering from injuries, where will be the most competitive positions, etc.

They wanted to grill Parcells rather than collect information. One writer had already stated she wanted to get Parcells on record regarding TO so if he left after this year he could not use TO as an excuse for leaving. They are already trying to start a controversy before this season starts whether Bill will leave or stay for another year.

It seems they would be more concerned about the talent and condition of the talent on the field and BP's anticipated success for this season rather than whether he might use some excuse about leaving should he leave.

If he leaves what does it matter what excuse he uses? The issue is whether he leaves or we get a new HC, not what kind of excuse he gives. How asinine can you get?

Why do they grill him over and over about his relationship with Jerry?
JJ and BP have both stated fifty eleven hundred times they have a good relationship and enjoy working together but the press won't quit.

THE PRESS IS NOT COMPRISED OF SPORTSWRITERS THAT ARE REPRESENTNG THE FANS. THE MOST OF THESE PEOPLE ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN CONTROVERSY AND KEEPING SOMETHING STIRRING ALL THE TIME. It is obvious by the kind of questions they ask. They stay in an adversarial mode all the time. I don't blame BP going into hibernation after the season. When your season ends the last thing you want is to continue to put up with hostile adversarial people.

How would you grade the performance of the Press today?

Hey JJT and the rest of the mediots that troll through here looking for story ideas...you have never, ever represented me as a fan, so stopping using us as a shield to stir up controversy where there is none. Instead of pestering BP, why not dig into why oil prices are shooting through the roof and we still have no alternate fuel base. I am sure that could keep you busy for a few months until the football season starts....

I think the casual fan wants to go to the office on Monday morning and say "I went to the Cowboy game"...and that's about the sum of it.

Whatever.

Why would any professional expect anything more than 30-ish minute PC though?

F. While I didn't expect answers to all my questions I expected at least a few to get answered. Even worse, BP could have sat there for another 50 minutes and we probably wouldn't know much more than we do now.

Good points about the casual fan.

Even though you make an excellent point, that doesn't make it any less frustrating as a diehard.

I WANT to know how the rookies look. I WANT to know what Parcells thinks of all our picks....even the UDFA.

But that won't sell to Joe Fan......Oh well.....

What's with the griping over asking about Owens??? He is by-far the most controversal player in the game here and of course people were going to ask questions the minute he signed here, add the fact that he was skipping off-season workouts and yes - I want to hear it from Parcells himself that he was okay with the signing. He made the comments about shopping for the groceries, about being too old for thugs and troublemakers, does he think he can say that then yet not have to answer for it when he does the opposite???
I honestly don't believe anyone blames the media for asking about TO. Personally, what I have a problem with is that's ALL they seemed interested in. I listened to most of the press conference. Personally I did want to hear Tuna's opinions on TO. But I also wanted to hear a lot more about the draft picks and the rest of the team.

LOL!!! Do you really think he would say he wasnt if that was the truth?

Media: BP was you on board with the TO signing?

BP: No. Not at all. That was all JJ and I have no idea what he was thinking.

you know what's funny. The local media think they get screwed. Hell Parcells rarely talks to the national media. Has he ever been on Cowboys Cam on NFL Network? Not to my recollection.

all they needed to do was to ask 1 question about TO, instead of spending 30 minutes asking a variety of the same question hoping to get a scoop...

hmmm...I don't know anything about it, but how can they be the same old questions? I thought the media had been sitting on these questions for months waiting to ask BP....maybe they just want to hear it from his mouth and then move on.

Exactly. THEY want to hear. Not the fans. The fans don't need it to be told to us to know. Of course BP supports the TO signing.

1. JJ wouldn't of signed him if BP didn't support it.

2. If JJ decided to sign TO anyway, BP would of retired.

3. Why else was BP talking to Rosenhaus before we signed TO? If BP wasn't interested he wouldn't of bothered talking to Rosenhaus.

This isn't about the media wanting to hear it from BP. This is about the media wanting BP to comment on it so they spin their TO "stories" with actual BP quotes.

You're the man, Juke! However, I must say one thing.......Parcells is probably the best and most controversial HC in the NFL when it comes to Press Conferences. He has a great combination of sarcasm and oneliners and simply controls the press like no other! I would pay to see his PC!:clap2:
