I would like to remind people that Jason Ferguson is our starting NT not Luis Castillo who was drafted to also put pressure on the QB. Our NT is a true 3-4 NT which means 80% of pass rushing duties fall to the OLB's and DE's. Merriman gets alot of clean up sacks while Ware must be 1 on 1 with a RT to get to the QB. Both are amazing can we just move on from this please?

That is not true. Castillo plays LDE, the same as Spears. The Chargers have Jamal Williams at NT. He is 348 lbs, is a beast and a true NT. Something to consider this season is that San Diego lost Foley to that off field incident and he was a force for the D.

Enough with this dumb comparison!. Ware is an overall better player. He does everything and that's all we ask for.

Merrimen....he's the least of my worries....

For those keeping track:

Game 2 stats:
Merriman 0 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT.
Ware: 4 tackles, 0 assist, 1 sack.

For the Season:
Merriman: 6 tackles, 1 assist, 3 sacks, 1 INT, 1 pass d, 0 FF
Ware: 8 tackles, 0 assists, 1 sack, 0 pass d, 0 FF

Even though Merriman was quite except for the INT last week, he is still dominating Ware in big plays statistics with 3 sacks, 1 int, and a pass deflection.

Merriman got most of his stats from playing Oakland, but didn't make near the impact against the Titians. The Cowboys lineup against the Titans next week. Will Ware make more of an impact against the Titans than Merriman did with an interception?

The Chargers have Ravens, Steelers, and 49ers up and the Cowboys have Titans, Eagles, and Texans up. My question is, who has better stats at the end of this 3 game stint.

I'm a huge Ware fan, but until he can prove to me he is more of an impact player in his own style of defense. I have to take Merriman.

Ware should have two sacks. That one against Brunell that was called back was bogus with a capital B. And I think you should wait until Ware plays against the Titans and the Texans. Ringing up stats against an inept offense is one thing....
