Sometimes you can control a situation and sometimes you can't. Yes bad things can happen at any time but there are a lot more drunks at closing time and there are a lot more cops on the streets who are also hanging around these places because they know what to expect. I didn't not listen so I don't expect others to listen. Just don't be suprised the next time you hear about a ball player getting nailed at some club during the early morning hours. It happens way to often to think that it is just some dumb bad luck.

Man, I'm not saying I will be suprised, what I am saying is more should be concentrated on teaching them how to go out, than telling them not to go out, cause thats just not going to happen. They are going to go out.

As I said I did not listen when people tried to tell me what I am saying now. I thought I knew it all and so some old turd was not going to tell me what I could or could not do. So I learned the hard way just like so many others do. For a ball player when they are in High School the HC takes care of many problems for you, in College the HC takes care of many problems for you. In the Pros as an adult you are on your own and hanging out at strip clubs and running the streets at all hours is a big risk to lose everything you worked so hard to get.

Nah, they tell them not to go and figure out how to make them see why they shouldn't go out, they don't realllllllly teach them how to go out. I understand what you have been through, but your not understanding me. I have been out with many, without saying too much, and I know many club owners and managers, there are ways that they can go out and ways where they mess up.

No NFL they tell them and have players who have been there and done that and they tell them of their experiance and the down falls. Some do not care to listen. Their choice.

I agree with you, the point I'm making is that there is a certain way to go out, and even most of those older players don't know really, after all, that is why they probably got into trouble in the first place and are now lecturing new players to not go down that same path. They don't know how to go out either.

Among the players, a joke is the NFL doesn't stand for the National Football League, instead it stands for the National Free Loaders cause they try to get by on their name and get into anything and everything for free. I mention this because what comes around goes around, don't take care of those people, you will find yourself in the newspaper for some incident.

There are ways they can prevent at least some of this trouble.

There are a whole lot of ways to relax and have fun that don't include going to strip clubs= or any kind of low rent scum joint. I have no sympathy for anyone that gets in trouble at a place like that- as far as I am concerned you are asking for trouble the moment you go in the door.

You made me think of the quote from Deke Mutombo, probably one of the most giving and best people in sports was heard yelling out in a strip club, "Who wants to climb Mt Mutombo". This man builds hospitals in his home country to help people, what are the rest of these athletes doing with their money besides trying to make themselves richer.

Just cause you look good in public and in the media doesn't mean your a good person in real life and just cause you stay home every night doesn't make you better than anyone else either.
