Since CCF seems to be obsessed with the weight of Americans, I went and did a little research, and found some interesting facts:
U.S.-Canadian obesity gap is narrowing
Nearly three-quarters of Ontario adults are obese or overweight
Obesity cost the Canadian economy somewhere between $4.6-billion and $7.1-billion a year. Those costs are split pretty evenly between direct health-care costs and indirect costs such as lost productivity of people unable to work either because of disability or because they are unable to find employment due to discrimination.
Seems CCF isn't the only Canadian practicing anti-fat bigotry...
However, when researchers actually measured and weighed Canadians, they found that more than 1 in 4 adults - 25.4 per cent - were actually obese.
That means there are somewhere between 3.3 million and 5.2 million Canadian adults who are obese, depending on the method of calculation.
More than half of Canadians, 51.1 per cent, report being overweight, meaning they have a BMI of over 25. When they are actually weighed and measured that increases to 62 per cent. That means almost 13 million Canadians are of an unhealthy weight.
In the past 30 years, the percentage of obese adults in the population has doubled.
Obesity is increasing not only in numbers but in severity. The biggest increases have been in the number of morbidly obese -those whose BMI exceeds 40.
It is the morbidly obese, of course, that CCF is always ranting about...
In children and youth, the prevalence of obesity tripled between 1979 and 2008.
International obesity rates vary greatly, from a low of 3.4 per cent in Japan to 34.3 per cent in the United States.
So, 34.3 per cent of my countrymen are obese, 25.4 per cent of Canadians... yeah, CCF has a lot of room to talk here... I seem to recall an adage about people in glass houses and throwing stones...

I find it rather amusing that the percentage of Canadians who identify themselves as obese is a good deal lower than the percentage who actually are when they get weighed...
When it comes to the morbidly obese, 5 per cent of Americans fall into that category, 3.5 per cent of Canadians... and as the Canadian report states, that percentage is rising rapidly among Canadians...
There are other factors at work that explain the small advantage the Canadians do enjoy:
The study authors also pointed out that the ethnic mix in each country is different. The American non-white population is comprised mainly of Hispanics and blacks, they noted, who are more likely to become obese than white Americans.
In contrast, Canadian non-whites are composed primarily of East/Southeast Asians, who are less likely to become obese than white Canadians.

Strange how we never hear CCF insulting his own fat countrymen in here...
And oh yeah, we also have a significantly higher percentage of world class athletes than your country does, CCF... just check out the medal count in the upcoming Olympics for proof of that...
Here endeth the lesson...
