Don't remember anyone hating Roger Staubach he was one of the most popular players in history.

Vitriol hate for Staubach outside of Cowboy land.
People flat out could not stand him...and for no good reason except that Dallas was called (or called itself, according to many fan bases) America's Team and he was considered the extremely nerdly, goody two-shoes QB that some called captain America.

Growing up, I lived in Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina and New Orleans. Unless someone was a Cowboy fan, the could not stand Roger Staubach.

Maybe you didn't live in the Washington, D.C. or Philadelphia area in the 1970s.

I'm talking about in general naturally they would hate him but they also respected him. Romo doesn't get much respect which is why he keeps ending up on these lists. Staubach was one of the most popular and respected players ever.

During the 70's the Cowboys were called America's Team because they had fans everywhere. Every great player is hated by their rivals but even the teams and fans that hated Staubach for beating them all the time they respected him. He was idolized by many.

KJJ, notice how you immediately shift the goalposts once someone disproves you, as usual?

Don't remember anyone hating Roger Staubach he was one of the most popular players in history.

"Anyone."

Then once I point out to you that people in the Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia areas probably hated Staubach, you immediately shift to this instead because you've been disproven:

I'm talking about in general naturally they would hate him but they also respected him. Romo doesn't get much respect which is why he keeps ending up on these lists. Staubach was one of the most popular and respected players ever.

So now you quickly admit, yes, people hated Staubach but they also respected Staubach as well. I don't doubt that, but you said you didn't remember anyone hating him - right before, "naturally they would hate him."

So first, no, they don't hate him, then, yes, they do?

During the 70's the Cowboys were called America's Team because they had fans everywhere. Every great player is hated by their rivals but even the teams and fans that hated Staubach for beating them all the time they respected him. He was idolized by many.

Notice how you have shifted the talk? First it's, "can't remember anyone hating Staubach." Then it turns into, "Staubach was respected by many." Trying to shift your direction away from your earlier statement that you couldn't recall anyone hating Staubach.

I bet the Vikings hate him. It's a little different in the internet age. I'm sure that if Roger were the starter today, you'd hear plenty about how much opposing fans hate him. The hate from other teams is also amplified in the Jerry Jones era, he's probably the least popular owner in all of sports.

The Vikings hate him because of the hail mary but they still respected him and they feared him when their teams had to face him.

I was there. Oh did folks hate him. He'd be Tebowed today.

Mostly hated because he was a Cowboy, won a lot, and projected a wholesome image. All the reasons I love him lol

So what point are you trying to make? I feel like we're going around in circles.

No one is moving the goal posts get off it! This is just a continuation of another argument you tried starting with me last week. Anything that has to do with Romo being disrespected riles you up. Obviously that list riles you up well it's not my list. Staubach was respected because he was Mr Clutch and Romo isn't because he's the exact opposite and is one of the highest paid players in the NFL despite only one playoff win. You weren't even following the Cowboys when Staubach was playing.

If Staubach was so hated how come the Cowboys became so popular they were called America's Team?

Well, the Cowboys are the most popular team in sports now, and apparently Romo is amongst the most hated players in the league.
