He's so bad in coverage we to run a circus defense.

Seems to me the person losing their position in that Scheme is the Base Free Safety and a Linebacker ....... Not Roy

Not to mention that was a Sports announcer that said the 3-3-1-4 ...... based on Jerry saying we want to play Roy closer to the LOS .... ya know because he is a Strong Safety.

He is still a DB and still is expected to cover. I agree, their positions are different but you can't ignore the fact that he plays a position where coverage is required.
