Reed and Roy are two DIFFERENT types of players. Comparing these two is like saying Eric Metcalf was a better RB then Earl Campbell cuz he had better moves than Campbell.

Sacks don't necessarily equate to pressure. I think this discussion's been held already. That said, the Ravens have gotten pressure on Payton and he's tossed up some awful throws as a result. They may not have been able to get to him in time, but they've been in his face all day.

Reed also has been beaten numerous times in coverage. His first interception could have been called back for pass interference on Ray Lewis (like Roy's INT for a TD was called back against Detroit), and his second one was a terrible overthrow.

Reed, like Roy, is one of the best safeties in the league. But to claim that he's somehow much better than Roy based on today's game is misguided.

you guys are hilarious.. all this based on this one game? Roy has had better stats than Reed in 4/5 seasons.. sure, Reed is having a great game.. but do you see how much pressure the Ravens' front 7 is getting on Manning?? Reed's picks have come off of outstanding pressure where Manning threw the ball up.. Roy hasn't benefiting from that kind of pressure at all.. not to mention the fact that Roy is a much better player in the box and against the run, which is what a STRONG SAFETY does.. even still, Roy has had more INTs and PDs than Reed over the last few seasons..

Reed had 1 tackle and 2 INT's.... that's EXACTLY what you want from your FREE SAFETY. He never had to step up and help the run and stayed 20 yards off the line of scrimmage on most every play.

Reed was all over the field, he was great. But that pressure would make Roy look amazing, too. It's pretty amazing what he does without anywhere near that.
