forget every thread you ever read about these two...Roy v Ed Reed

Yet another thread based on ignorance.

Reed and Roy are two DIFFERENT types of players. Comparing these two is like saying Eric Metcalf was a better RB then Earl Campbell cuz he had better moves than Campbell.

actually the ravens havent been getting to much pressure they didnt get a sack till the 3rd or 4th quarter... what game are you watching?
only one sack, but they have been hurrying him and pressuring him all day.. the announcers have said it over and over.. what game are you watching?

Sacks don't necessarily equate to pressure. I think this discussion's been held already. That said, the Ravens have gotten pressure on Payton and he's tossed up some awful throws as a result. They may not have been able to get to him in time, but they've been in his face all day.

I have been saying this all year in these threads and no one listens.

So dont even try :bang2:

Reed also has been beaten numerous times in coverage. His first interception could have been called back for pass interference on Ray Lewis (like Roy's INT for a TD was called back against Detroit), and his second one was a terrible overthrow.

Reed, like Roy, is one of the best safeties in the league. But to claim that he's somehow much better than Roy based on today's game is misguided.

:lmao2: :lmao: :laugh1:

you guys are hilarious.. all this based on this one game? Roy has had better stats than Reed in 4/5 seasons.. sure, Reed is having a great game.. but do you see how much pressure the Ravens' front 7 is getting on Manning?? Reed's picks have come off of outstanding pressure where Manning threw the ball up.. Roy hasn't benefiting from that kind of pressure at all.. not to mention the fact that Roy is a much better player in the box and against the run, which is what a STRONG SAFETY does.. even still, Roy has had more INTs and PDs than Reed over the last few seasons..
Voice of reason.

Yeah, your posts are pretty disgusting.

Which is why he's on my ignore list... but thanks for quoting him so I'd have to read the disgustingness too.

Muahahahahahaha!!!!!!

Comparing Ed Reed to Roy Williams is like comparing Barry Sanders to Jerome Bettis... they are 2 totally different style of players but they are both very effective if used properly.

Reed had 1 tackle and 2 INT's.... that's EXACTLY what you want from your FREE SAFETY. He never had to step up and help the run and stayed 20 yards off the line of scrimmage on most every play.

Ed Reed is a FREE safety and RW is a STRONG.

Ed Reed is suppose to be a ball hawk.

Why are we having this conversation?

Its called stupid people.

Or, how about it's like putting Emmitt behind Oakland's line and comparing that performance to his Dallas heyday?

Reed was all over the field, he was great. But that pressure would make Roy look amazing, too. It's pretty amazing what he does without anywhere near that.

The haters dont care... they want to see our guy on the highlight reel... who cares who is productive in their own way.

Might as well compare Jerry Rice to Jason Witten .....

2 different positions.
