Forgotten addition

Not by me!!!!!!!!!!!

The Wilson addition was huge. He's solidified a key position. Hope his injuries don't start cropping up again.
He has a knack for taking away passing lanes behind him.

Hopefully he can ramp up learning the playbook and keep murray on the bench. Its so cringe to see 59 on the field, You never know what you are gonna get.

Definitely, hopefully he can replace Murray. Murray has been awful. On that play to Kelce, if Murray at least looks for the ball, he probably knocks it down and it's turnover on downs on KC. That should have been an easy batted ball if not pick.

Logan Wilson is a Jack Sanborn that doesn't tackle like a grandma. :muttley:

Seriously though, I think the Cowboys need to give him more snaps than Kenneth Murray. Wilson might not be the same athlete but I am so over Murray getting lost out there.

I think this reflects pass defense. We have Murray and Overshown out there when a pass is most likely. Need to improve Murray's spot next spring.
Hopefully Shamar James is ready to replace Murray next season. Logan Wilson can stay in his current early down role or in "big" packages (like when the offense goes two TE's, etc.).

We talk about Q and for good reason, but what are your thoughts and observations on the play of the other deadline addition….LB Logan Wilson, thus far?
he is not the most athletic, but he plays smart and he is a sure tackler, something that was missing in the LB group. with overshown back, they have to decent pieces to back up the DL.

I don't think they trust him. I've heard a lot about how smart he is but he's made some pretty dumb plays.
He has the same problem as Murray. His instincts are not great. For a linebacker, that negates all the speed in the world. Dallas needs to learn from trading for Murray and drafting Liufau that all the athletic ability in the world does not make up for a lack of instincts, and you can't coach that into a player.

For me, I think, if we are going to keep Eberflus, then we at least need to get a DB coach who's a bit more aggressive wanting picks. Murray should have had a pick in the endzone if he looks for the ball.

That has to be a hope. James also has the ability to get downfield with receivers. He just plays a little out of control right now.

I think the main reason Wilson was traded for peanuts is simply because he lacks the athleticism of top linebackers. He's clearly leaps and bounds above Sanborn, but that can be exploited in pass coverage. One of KC's TDs came when they got Wilson isolated in coverage. Of course, Kelce scored against Murray ... so pick your poison. I'd prefer it if Murray is off the field, but the interception he caused against the Raiders probably assured he's out there for now in passing situations.

Murray is not a DB.

I know, but at least having some coaching from a DB coach to look for the ball in that situation might help. If you're a LB and you're in that situation, you have to know to look for the ball. We get the ball back with no score conceded if he looks for it.

Dumping Clark and Overshown & Wison combo is much better. But Murray is still a liability.
Really wish Liufau could step up more and take that spot.

There was a play yesterday where Mahomes got a 1st down, but barely because Wilson had speed and took a good angle to limit Mahomes. If that's murray Mahomes might slip by and get more yards or get into the endzone maybe

Wilson actually has instincts and can read an offense. Unlike James and Liafau.

It’s a welcome addition.

Still want the cowboys to draft an MLB early though.

Same, we are always deficient there. I'd love our two first round picks this year to be a linebacker and a pass rusher.

You don't believe LB coaches coach that?
