Forgotten addition

He's what he was in college, a player who plays with his hair on fire but is often not where he's supposed to be. That's why he was available in the third.
Many draft experts/sites had Liafau going late 4th to early 5th

Don't remember that, but based on what we've gotten from him so far, I can see it. Right now, he's Murray with less talent.

This.
And I agree, he will make a big play at some point.
I believe there is a stat he leads LB's in INT's over the past 2 or 3 years. I know he made big plays with INT's for the Bengals.
Not saying I disagree but what is this based on?
I have heard 2 or 3 talking heads on tv say a variation of this and maybe that's where it comes from but does anyone have any specifics that lend to the idea that he is some leader, or smart player or steadying presence? Its not a loaded quesiton where I disagree, Id love it to be true, but what is it based on?

This site had him going in 5th round.

For that draft, they also had Guyton going late 1st, Kneeland the 3rd, and BeeBee late 2nd.

This draft is another example of why I've been saying, we suck at drafting defense and do well drafting offense in the first three rounds since the Mo Claiborn draft.

Numbers certainly bear that out. Seems like we only draft well on defense when we get a guy like Eze who is universally rated higher than he's taken. We've had a few notable hits, though, like Lawrence and Parsons.

only hope is a brain transplant
It's kind of sad. Some of these players have so much athletic talent but no brain for the game. Others have fantastic football brains but very little talent.

We talk about Q and for good reason, but what are your thoughts and observations on the play of the other deadline addition….LB Logan Wilson, thus far?
He’s been average to poor. There’s another thread about him right below this

People *wanted* to believe, from the get go, that he was the 2022 version of himself and the answer to our “gritty, hard nosed, coach on the field” prayers, but he’s been in decline since 2023.

Bengals fans are pretty uniformly in the “he was really good before and a helluvs a guy but we never should have given him that last contract and it’s better that we at least got something for him”

And his play has shown it. It seems like most don’t actually see his plays on the field.

Look at his game logs.

Do those look like starting MLB tackle numbers?

8 tackles over three games.
No tackles for loss,
No pass defenses
No ints
No forced fumbles
No sacks
No interceptions

All of those INTs actually happened before 2024. He fell off last year and this year. He had a serious injury.

Nice...it's kicker, that is a great reason. Will win the game, if needed.

The forgotten player.

Appears he is just ok and I really hope Dallas can bring in next year a couple more LB to replace Wilson and Murray. Especially Murray. But I really want a young tough fast backer in the draft. Plus get a vet too just in case the young guy takes longer to develop.

Lawrence yes. Parsons, we lucked into due to the corners, Horn and PS2 already taken right before we picked.

Ah, you could say we luck into pretty much every good pick we make. Unless you are picking No. 1 overall, you are at the mercy of whoever is picking in front of you.

That's true but it was obvious they had no clue how good Parsons was going to be. If they had any clue, they would have tried to move up to get him. Instead, they actually traded back with the EaGirls before picking him. Fact that they traded back with their biggest rival should tell you what they thought of Parsons.
