If the current home structural materials that are demolished are made of stone, brick and or concrete it can go to a recycling facility where it is made into reusable aggregate. If there is metal framework of some sort it can go to metals recycler as well. We really don't know if Dak is doing this on a whim, or if there were some issues with the home. But if he just wants even a larger home for whatever desire or purpose it may be more practical demolishing it and rebuilding a larger scale home than expanding it with additions. Maybe he wants to rebuild a mini stadium to live in since he already has half a field o_O
btw this is not a DIY job. he hired professionals. how do we know the professionals are not taking it to recycling facilities to extract more money out of it....

You're not doing well, are you?
I couldn’t be doing better. I’m enjoying the games today and looking forward to our game. You’re the one who’s not doing well. You responded to me because I made a comment that hit home with you. Get over it!

Newsflash, rich people do rich people things. This happens all the time but doesn't make the news because most rich people aren't known. It's getting attention because in this economy, so many people are living paycheck to paycheck and here we have a guy tearing down a mini mansion to build an even bigger house. While so many will never be able to afford even the most modest houses. And then get the whole "boo hoo sports players make so much money".
:hammer:Very well said. The economy plus the recent hurricanes that wiped out people's homes while he does it voluntarily. It ended up being poor timing.

If you take a front end loader and swing it into brick work I can guarantee you there is no recycling of that material. It's going to the landfill to be part of posterity for the next 150 years until kiln dried material breaks down.

still, his choice. I am sure some of it will be saved...doing it another way, might take months to dismantle....so the builder, trying to get to their money faster.

How many acres does dak have?
I would've just built a second house on the same property.
