News: Fox: How Dak Prescott-Cooper Rush QB controversy parallels Tony Romo's

That's not what they decided. They decided that Romo's body was never going to be able to hold up in the future and so they moved on from Romo entirely. Yes, Romo was the better QB (and it wasn't close IMO), but the organization saw a path to an easy transition at QB and took it.

There is no scenario where we walk away from Dak's salary, so all this conversation is pointless.
The entire league confirmed Romo's injury situation by the fact he didn't get picked up the next season. The Cowboys made the right move. If Romo comes back does he get hurt again in a game or two? The answer based off history would be yes sadly. And that sucks because a healthy older Romo is better than a healthy Dak as far as understanding game and just managing things, but making the big plays when it's there. But he couldn't stay healthy sadly

The Dak/Rush QB situation doesn’t parallel at all with the Romo/Dak situation. Romo couldn’t stay healthy and the Cowboys were looking to replace him which is why they drafted Dak. The Cowboys don’t see Cooper Rush as their future. Dak was putting up bigger numbers than Rush in 2016 and we were scoring points. We had a very good offense that year. Although Rush has managed games well and is protecting the ball we’re struggling to sustain drives aren’t scoring enough points. Our offense is ranked 27th.

Well to be fair Dak only had Cee Dee as a receiver. Houston was the starter? No preseason work. And you had Moore before McCarthy wheeled him in. To bad Dan Quinn can't coach offense. Dak would probably be Brady.

Comparing a career backup to a guy thats been a 6 year starter seem more fair?

Romo would not been allowed to backup Prescott if they were that concerned. Injuries do not occur on a schedule. They would not have allowed him to even suit up against Philadelphia if that were the case.

Romo would have played if Prescott had gotten injured. That is what backup quarterbacks do when the starter is knocked out of the lineup.

Two different situations.

Dak was a rookie new to the offense, Romo was injury prone with Dak drafted to be groomed to replace him, everybody ahead of Dak got injured or beat out to be starter after Romo's injury, Dak showed starting potential in preseason games, and Dak went on an 11 game winning streak winning an NFC East Division title and homefield throughout the playoffs.

Cooper Rush is a veteran that has been with another team, was an UDFA, is very familiar with the offense, has won as a fill in but did not win a starters job against Andy Dalton who moved on making the opportunity for Cooper Rush to return to the Cowboys as a backup, and Cooper Rush has a bus driver game plan.

The only things in common is that 2016 and 2022 Dallas has good defense, both had bus driver game plans, they do not turn the ball over, and the head coach is a puppet for Jerry Dumbo GM Jones.

I was sad at the time but understood it was the right decision. My point in bringing it up here is that this is not the same situation with Dak and Rush.

It's similar in the fact that Dak is always hurt now like Romo was, ankle, calf, thumb ...what's next?
It's different because Romo was a 4 Time Pro-Bowler with the 3rd best qb rating of all-time and it was obvious he was better then Dak.

Rush is a much more natural thrower and more accurate than Dak, so this is easier

Drrrrr K. Ridiculous and inaccurate aren't the same thing.
So what is ridiculous about the accurate post. Enlighten me.

If you want to have a conversation about it I'm here for it. If you want to continue being a douchebag because you don't like my posts, kindly bugger off.

Why circulate this garbage "journalism?"
Prescott had a freak injury off a helmet for crying out loud. Romo was injured by a Southwest brisk wind.
There's literally ZERO chance Rush "puts the team on his shoulders" for 6 more games +. We'll be lucky to get past Philly.
Stop talking nonsense. Romo had a compression fracture to his back. It was a freak injury that happened due to the way he slid and his body was contorted forward with the full weight of the defensive player on him, and any player including Dak could’ve suffered the same injury if hit in the same manner.

Dak has always been carried by the team. He’s never carried it.

The similarities are
  • The team was on win streak with Dak and is now on one with Rush
  • Romo was better than Dak then and Dak is better than Rush now

The main difference now is
  • Dak is overall more healthy now than Romo was in 2016

Dallas took the safe route in 2016 but, imo, limited their ceiling by staying with Dak.
Staying with Rush would not be taking the safe route now, imo, because whoever the QB is will have a smothering defense to help carry them.
The upside is greater with Dak

That is true, but he proved he could be a starter. If not a franchise quarterback. So what is your points

You are absolutely incorrect. What about the second season. He lost the starting wide receiver, tight end, starting center, is it Ezekiel Elliott missed half the season. How fast people forget what Prescott did lol

Trust me the Cowboys were thinking more than backup QB in the 2016 draft. They would have drafted Carson Wentz had he been there at number four overall. They tried trading back into the first round for Paxton Lynch. Whoever they drafted at QB would have began as a backup.

We were definitely looking for a quarterback. The Prescott was a huge surprise. I still think you can take us to the big one
