Man I remember alot but what I remember most is his stats. You don't just have as many top 5 -10 stats that high with just physicality is all I'm saying.I guess you don't recall TO inability to run routes precisely? All his QB's were mobile: Young, Garcia, McNabb, Romo. TO made plays when QB's extended plays and he adjusted.
That Metcalf dude in Seattle reminds me of him in that regardTO was maybe the best receiver I’ve after seen after the catch. Just an absolute monster.
Dez probably would’ve been right there with him as far as Yac but Jason Garrett was too clueless to do anything but make him run 9 routes all game.
Owens was a showstopper though.
Very true, I want to say that TO played that Giants playoff game with a very bum ankle. That was our freaking SB year but the GODS said otherwise…
I might be one of a very few that actually liked T.O. I read his book.
I appreciate the persistence, but you have got to be real with yourself at a certain point. You see this often in the UFC where they don’t know when to hang it up and end up embarrassing themselves with knock out after knock out.
If you liked him it's a good bet you probably never met him. T.O. was a great player.. but a first class jerk. I rooted for him when he was wearing the Star but I did not shed a tear when they sent him packing. His insecurities and paranoid delusions precluded his ever being a good teammate. He was always convinced that other guys on the team were out to get him. There is no way a player of his immense talent would have been released by 6? 7? teams sometimes even as he was having all pro level seasons..I might be one of a very few that actually liked T.O. I read his book.
Lol no, TO is greater than IrvinHe was Jerry's biggest mistake, bringing that loser in cost us Parcell's and probably a super bowl.
Please come back so you can be used as a tackling dummy...
Give me Amari. Gallup and Lamb over cry baby anyday.
Micheal Irvin was better than that selfish trash...Irvin has 3 rings to prove it. Irvin was well-loved by everybody.
Owen's teammates couldn't wait till he left the team...
Romo threw him lead passesTO had the freaky ability to get 5 yards deeper than the deepest defender. On numerous plays Romo would uncork a frigging BOMB that went above the camera viewing angle, only for it to come down in view in TO's hands 5 yards ahead of the defender. I just don't know how TO did that! It was awesome.
Saran wrap is fun in those situationsthe voices tell me not to wear pants and continue sitting in my recliner.
He won’t get a shot but if there was one athlete in the history of the sport I would not bet against it would be TO.
Dude is just a different type of athlete.
He can’t run routes?
He was one of the best route runners in the league.
People seem to forget that TO made Romo look good. But they will have you believe it was the other way aroundFolks seem to forget, Owens put up 937 yards, 9 TDs, 13.7 YPC in just 14 games (11 starts) during his last season at age 37.
That’s bonkers.
Dez was never as fast as TO nor the same route runner. Let’s not get crazy here lol.TO was definitely built different. 6'3" 220 with one of the greatest 0 to 60 bursts you will ever see.
Dez is pretty comparable, but even he wasn't as big and strong as TO was. TO's shoulders were just friggin squares, he was built like a fridge of muscle that ran 4.4.
But his 3 years with Romo were absolutely magical! Lots of TD’s there…If you liked him it's a good bet you probably never met him. T.O. was a great player.. but a first class jerk. I rooted for him when he was wearing the Star but I did not shed a tear when they sent him packing. His insecurities and paranoid delusions precluded his ever being a good teammate. He was always convinced that other guys on the team were out to get him. There is no way a player of his immense talent would have been released by 6? 7? teams sometimes even as he was having all pro level seasons..
