Dez was never as fast as TO nor the same route runner. Let’s not get crazy here lol.

True but Dez's gifts were those ridiculous hops and that "run angry" style of his with the ball in his hands. Dude could go up to places where no DB in the league not named Byron Jones could go .. I do think Dez had slightly better hands and much better body control in the air. But to be honest neither was ever going to be confused with a great route runner.

People seem to forget that TO made Romo look good. But they will have you believe it was the other way around

Let's not get carried away here. T.O. was great.. but Romo sent him to the Pro Bowl.. then Miles Austin to the Pro Bowl.. then Dez to the Pro Bowl.. Oh and Witten made about a dozen Pro Bowls with him.. That's a lotta guys "making Romo look good." At some point we might need to give Romo his due.

He still owes a whole lot of back child support, I believe.....which might answer the question as to who are the people that are advising TO to stay in shape for the possibility of playing in the NFL again.

The last few years T O played they had to put him in motion because he couldn't beat press coverage anymore. Oh and him making Romo look good ? I believe Romo's interceptions were cut in half after TO left.

One of the top 4/5WR's in pro football history, his story a must read.

But......what happens at his age is it takes too long to recovery, no way he can hang for a 17 maybe more games.

So 2 HOF players. Miles Austin and Dez. Witten Dez and TO (actually did it) would have all be great with any other QB as well. Im not taking anything away from Romo. But that deep ball that worked so well with TO worked with Culpepper and Moss to.

You sure about this? When Romo missed 3 games in 2008 T.O. went 2 catches for 31 yards, 5 catches for 33 yards and then 5 catches for 36 yards and 1 TD. Three games.. 12 catches 100 yards 1 TD. Extrapolated out to 16 games that's 48 catches for 400 yards and 4 TDs. That's well short of "great with any other QB." And how good were guys like Patrick Crayton, Laurent Robinson and Terrance Williams without Romo? Hint: they generally fell off a cliff when Romo went down. It's never a good idea to eliminate the QB from the equation when evaluating receivers. It's a symbiotic relationship. One simply cannot be great without the other being great. Yes one can help make the other guy's job easier.. But neither can do the other's job.

I am saying starting QBs. Look at what TO did with in Cincy. And Terrance Williams? His play fell off a cliff when Dez went down. Romo couldnt even make him look good without Dez taking the coverage away. He got Laurent Robinson paid Ill give you that. I am just saying TO is in the HOF for a reason and Witten will be. Those 2 guys would have been studs anywhere they went. TO was a stud on every team he played for. Even at an advanced age.

Yes he was.. however he was NOT a stud with "any QB." He needed a good QB to be effective. When paired with a crappy QB he was pretty much toast. That's what makes guys like Fitz, D-Hop and even Coop so amazing.. Those guys seem to be able to put up numbers with you and me at QB. Coop putting up 92 catches and 1100 yards with some of the hot garbage we threw out there at QB last year is a minor miracle. But as a general rule.. as a receiver it doesn't matter how much of a stud you are.. If the QB can't get you the ball you aint gonna be a stud. Period.

As much as I don't like to take up for TO, I'm not sure this is a fair statement. TO put up quality numbers his entire career, and while he had good QB's, guys like Jeff Garcia weren't particularly special. As for Cooper, his numbers were definitely dwindling before coming to Dallas, and as for Fitzgerald, his numbers definitely dropped for a few years after Warner retired, then again after Carson Palmer retired.

Hold on there potna.. Jeff Garcia was a quality QB. Not great.. not Hall of Fame.. but a quality NFL starter. The dude took the 49ers to the playoffs.. he took the Bucs to the playoffs at age 37.. when his primary receivers were a 36 year old Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard.. He rescued the Eagles when McNabb got hurt and went 5-1 to help them get to the playoffs.

And Fitz? You can't be serious.. Here is the list of QBs with whom Fitz has put up pro bowl/1000 yard seasons..

2005 - Kurt Warner
2007 - Warner (11 games) and Leinert ( 5 games)
2008 - Warner
2009 - Warner
2010 - Derek Anderson, Max Hall, John Skelton (90 catches for 1137 yards with these bums throwing to him)
2011 - John Skelton, Kevin Kolb ( 80 catches 1411 yards .. second highest yardage in his career)
2012 - Kolb, Skelton, Ryan Lindley, Brian Hoyer
2013 - Carson Palmer
2015 - Palmer
2016 - Palmer
2017 - Palmer (7) , Drew Stanton (4), Blaine Gabbert (5).. (109 catches 1156 yards)

Sorry but that dude has kicked butt pretty much regardless of who has been throwing him the ball. Now yes he is old as dirt now and never going to put up any more 1200 yard 100 catch seasons. But he deserves props for what he accomplished seemingly no matter who the QB was.

People only believe that because T.O. couldn't make Bledsoe look good. T.O. only started catching fire when Romo replaced Bledsoe. That's probably the reason for their confusion.

So Owens is staying in shape in case someone calls? He and Colin can sit together and wait by the phone.
