Jets fullback Tony Richardson signed a one-year deal last year with the team.

And, technically, he became a free agent again at midnight.

But not for long.

Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports that Richardson is re-signing with the team.

Richardson spent 11 years with the Chiefs before signing in Minnesota for two seasons. His presence in New York last season surely played a role in the performance of tailback Thomas Jones, who was voted team MVP.

On Haynesworth, I'd absolutely love it if there was a way to get him and keep Ware. Stick Ratliff outside and watch out. Still, gotta figure there's absolutely no chance of it happening, so I'm not going to be hoping for it.

From all of Jerry's comments, I get the sense this is going to be the first offseason in some time where signings/hirings/firings are dependent largely about fiscal issues. With that stadium opening and the economy the way it is, it doesn't seem like he's real eager to shell out a lot of dough. Just my two cents though.
